County Market is a family-owned grocery store with a long history dating back to 1917 when it started as a small corner store in Quincy, Illinois. Over the years, the Niemann family has worked closely with their staff to offer tasty foods and a variety of products. The store is known for its popular fried chicken, homemade Texas Sheet Cake from the bakery, and made-from-scratch Meals to Go. Visitors often appreciate the friendly and welcoming staff, with some staff members remembered by name and known for their kindness and humor. The store offers parking suitable for trucks and motorhomes, accommodating travelers passing through. While some customers find the shopping experience to be average, citing limited selection and higher prices, others recognize the store's effort to support local businesses and offer sale items. The meat department receives mixed reviews, with some customers disappointed by the selection and service, such as at the deli counter, where ordering specific items can sometimes be confusing. Despite this, the overall atmosphere is positive, especially thanks to the friendly staff and quality food. County Market remains a trusted local spot for those needing essentials, with a community-focused vibe and a long-standing tradition of feeding families with good food.
Been shopping here for years and u have to watch the hamburger they package. If they don't clear the scale you will pay 25 dollars for 1.4 pounds of hamburger.

Price gouging because they are the grocery store in town, it's really sad.

Great service, little pricey but it's a small town.
