Best Brats you'll ever taste! Nice folks and they do a perfect job of custom butchering. Lots of attention to detail, great packaging. Well worth a long drive if you're not from the area. During hunting season they process deer and their venison brats will win over any non lover of venison. Here again their trimming and packaging is superb. Everything is in vacuum sealed pouches to keep well in the freezer, thaw without a mess or go directly into skid vide. Their venison summer sausage is excellent too! I give them my highest recommendation.

I went to Mary's Valley to collect a refund for beef tongue my friend ordered but never received.I was kidding around about my friend paying extra for parts that are usually thrown away. The cashier remarked it was a lot of extra work to remove them. I said I figured you just pull out the tongue and whack.I used the refund to buy my chicken. I told her i was excited about it, because I steam 5 lbs of chicken and get 3 lbs, when I'm done. All that added water makes it hard to brown properly. I never thought of getting it from a butcher. When I gave my friend his refund, he told me Mary's Valley called and said I was ranting and raving about prices. I was shocked. I thought we had a friendly conversation where I was making light of my friend paying extra for throw away parts. I've never been so embarrassed. Whatever caused her paranoia must have been pretty rough. I can't imagine what kind of customers she usually deals with, but if smiling and being friendly is considered ranting and raving so awful she had to report to my friend, there is definitely something wrong. I didn't even mention the other parts of the cow we never received. I was just having a great day. I'd rather butcher the cow myself than have to go back there.I've thawed my chicken, and it has white striping. "White striping" is a muscular disorder that degrades the quality of the chicken's meat, increasing fat content by up to 224%, decreasing protein, and making the meat woody.It's occurs when chickens are pushed to grow faster, quicker. According to the National Chicken Council, the birds head to market at an average of over 6 pounds in just 47 days.

They charge extra for things you don't receive. You order other things they forget to put on the order. The best cuts aren't included in the processing of beef. No tenderloin or filet in the whole cow. Do they keep it? Never again.
