Their dumb policy is inefficient and cost me $1000. I rent a box at this UPS store and they've always sent me a notification anytime I've had something come in. One day I had them check my box since I hadn't gotten notifications in awhile and there was an envelope that had been sitting for 2 months. In it was a check for $1000 that bounced because I received it months late. UPS then told me (not before mind you) that they don't send notifications for envelopes, but only box packages even though my box is a virtual box that I can't check on my own because it is behind the counter. So now every single time that I come in I will have to have them check my box even though there would be nothing in it 99% of the time instead of them just sending me a notification once which would save them time and hassle in the long run. This policy is inefficient and dumb.
EDIT: The owners response only proves my point about their poor policy thought process. No, I didn't know I had a large check coming. The box is an address for my public fan mail to be sent. I don't use my home address for such things. To act like it is my fault that I didn't get notified because I should have known what random people send me is ridiculous and stupid. One side of the mouth says "we had no idea you had a check for $1000", the other side of the mouth says "i know I would have (known a check was there)" You contradict yourself.
