I finally had the opportunity to patronize this establishment after many years of living in the neighborhood. I always wanted to come, but could never catch it during business hours. Well, tonight my younger daughters were in the parish basement for a girlscout meeting, and my adult daughter and I decided to pop over. I was so excited! Well, my excitement wasn't matched. The owner was VERY dry. I tried to make small talk with her because I'm a "friendly Bob", but that exchange was not reciprocated. I asked a few questions trying to decide what I wanted, but all I received was dry answers. It was as though our very presence offended her. I'll admit, I was having some issues locating my card that I had just used somewhere else. She rudely and abruptly told me that "they were closed, and she wanted to close up." Mind you, there were 4 other customers casually enjoying their experience at that time. I didn't realize it was near closing upon entry. We merely saw lights on and people and naturally assumed they were open. My daughter paid, and we left. Her attitude was very dismissive, and I haven't been made to feel that way in a very long time! Lucky me!!! My feelings were actually a bit hurt. I'm not sure if it was because we came in near closing, but as a department store owner, we encounter late customers all of the time, and we welcome ALL of them. To be honest, I only made a purchase because I wanted to support, but her attitude made me feel as though she would have preferred NOT to have my business. As a side note, the four people were still in there a half hour after we were abruptly dismissed because she wanted to close up. I suppose we weren't the desired customer base. That's the only thing I can figure. Strangely enough, I lived in the Shaw neighborhood for 25 years and always believed it to be a kind, welcoming, inclusive community...hmmmm...This pic was taken at 6:24 when I was sitting in the car waiting for my girls to finish Girl Scouts, by the way...UPDATE: After reading your response, I have adjusted my rating. I will take into consideration that perhaps I read your personality incorrectly. I wasn't bothered that you didn't have the wine I prefer. I was going to support anyway because I came in. I was determined to find SOMETHING to buy! To be fair, we watched the other 2 female customers come in right before us. That's how I noticed that you were still open. They closed up their business a few doors down and came to your establishment. The person you were sitting with after we left may have been a distributor, but the other two ladies certainly were not. We watched them leave and check on their business. Either way, you are indeed entitled to close at your scheduled time; however, perhaps you should be more conscientious as to how you come off to your customers. A little kindness goes a LONG way. Try a little tenderness because things happen; hence, me misplacing my card. We arrived at 5:50 unaware that you were closing in 10 minutes. I apologize. We rang out at 6:05. I apologize if you feel that I wasted any of your time. On a separate note, the cheese was really good!

I visited this lovely shop as I was picking up food from another small business. This place is so cute! They have a wonderful wine selection for pretty much everyone. There's a counter where you can choose from a large selection of cheeses. Sadly they didn't have any vegan options but took as I talked with them they were open to the idea of picking up a small selection in the future maybe?Either way, I love the atmosphere and will definitely return.

I drive by this spot almost every day on my way to yoga and I FINALLY remembered to go when it was open. WHEW. I'm going to want to come her ALL THE TIME.It's a smaller location, but has everything you need. Plenty of bar stools and outdoor seating. Their in house menu isn't really posted anywhere and I failed to take a photo so here it is:Cheese board (3 or 5 cheeses)+charcuterie (optional)Baguette sandwichesPate and baguette They have full baguettes to buy and bags of toasties made in house (toasty baguette with butter/oil and herbs) - perfect to bring home! They also have a ton of fun products - a bunch of finishing vinegars (we got to the try strawberry rhubarb and pear and ginger and holy cow THEY WERE SO GOOD), jams, condiments. You can buy cheeses or bottles of wine, and the workers are so knowledgeable. Ask them for help! I had their house wine and specialty wine - both really great. Their cheese board was out of this world. Super high quality cheeses, an amazing spread of types of cheeses - we got a couple soft, a really soft, a hard, and a blue. Different textures and ages. I'm still drooling at how good they all were. The board came with the best little pickles, jam (maple apple bacon which they sell in store!), micro greens, a baguette, and they even gave us some toasty bread.Service was great and it was a perfect experience. We will absolutely be back, and I'll bring all of my friends.

What a treasure!! We found this place when staying at an Airbnb just a couple of blocks away. Pretty sure we made it there 2 out of the 3 days we were in town! The staff was so knowledgeable about their products and very welcoming to all of us. We definitely found a new favorite wine based on their recommendations and loved all of the gift items they had available. We had fun tasting the free samples and even more fun purchasing some of their cocktails while we discussed what else we needed to buy. Needless to say, we left with quite a few fun bottles of wine and even some cheese that I just couldn't resist. We will definitely be back and will spread the word to anyone in the area that they are well worth checking out!

My partner had told me that he had found the staff difficult but was willing to give it another try since I wanted to check it out. When we walked through the door a young man sitting at a high top table said “we do t allow animals here because we serve food”. I tried to explain that the small dog in my arms was an emotional support animal and that he goes with me to all restaurants. He held firm. I guess they don’t need the business, and I, for one try to avoid patronizing businesses that discriminate again people with mental illness (I have an anxiety disorder). I’ll not be returning here. I hope you will join me in not supporting this business.

Great shop in the Shaw neighborhood! We've visited several times and the food and wine are wonderful, but the staff has really made the difference for me. I stopped by yesterday with a sleeping baby hoping to get a bite to eat and also keep the baby asleep. They could not have been nicer setting up the food so I could eat outside but grab and go if the baby started fussing. All was done with smiles and great service! The cheese and bread were so delicious that it reminded me of the times we've been in Paris eating at an outdoor cafe. A great addition to this area. Go there! You won't be disappointed!

Such a darling shop. Stopped in because I loved the exterior and the name, and loved all of the wine and cheeses that were inside! There is also this adorable side window that says speakeasy above it. They sell bottles of wine and cheese by weight, along with some other little things. They also sell wine by the glass and specialty beer cans. I purchased a $10 chocolate bar that was beautiful and had a completely different flavor profile than your average chocolate bar. The atmosphere is so upper echelon with a relaxed vibe, making me feel like almost royalty. I wish I lived in the area or had something like this near me because I could see myself being a regular!

Absolutely Amazing!-- that's all! :-) Honestly I love the owner and the staff! The selection is different and unique and they really try to have different selections all year long. Must try the cheese selection! I usually will stop in and get a grab n go box and some beer or wine. I highly suggest going and just trying something new! Always going back.
