Great apartment but the management has refused to repair an elevator making it impossible to get in and out in a timely manor. Really unfortunate because I really love the space.

I have been living here for 6-months and it has been a great experience. The staff is friendly, the views are amazing, and they have the best amenities in the market. They were doing renovations for a few months but recently stopped. I recommend everyone to rent here. I look forward to renewing.

Living in this building has been a continuous ordeal of enduring frustration. Expect multiple futile visits to the management office, and begging for basic needs. In my case, a supposed waitlist for carpet cleaning has stretched on for an absurd 2.4 years with no resolution in sight. Now I am living with a black mold and still no action taken to address the situation.Elevator breakdowns have become an unfortunate constant, resulting in excruciatingly long waits or a forced use of stairs. It seems the priority here is money, not resident comfort or safety. Shockingly, my belongings were stolen from their garage, and to add insult to injury, the security cameras conveniently don't cover all areas. In an audacious move, the garage prices were doubled amid this blatant lack of security.Lastly, a shout-out and appreciation to the skilled and professional maintenance team!

This past year has been a complete nightmare. Many times we do not have a door person, the laundry room has many machines that do not work and it takes weeks for them to be fixed, and the broken elevator situation is horrible. This place is a disaster! People need to contact the owners and Mills and fix major problems rather than spending money on redoing apartments. I have lived here for 19 years and never have I experienced such a complete mess!

The apartment itself is great...amazing view and plenty of space. Where my experience has gone off an absolute cliff is that I have lived here for 3 months and have not experienced a single day without constant interruptions from hammering/sawing/drilling/etc from construction on the apartment units. The construction will also go on most days until 8 or 8:30 at night (that has included almost every Saturday and Sunday as well). There have been numerous occasions where I had to purchase a day pass at a co-working space just so I could conduct my remote work in peace. If you have any concerns to raise with the Mills Management team, you will receive a 'that's the first time I have heard of that complaint' type of response.

This apartment started out wonderful, until the renovations came. I am currently trying to work from home but am constantly interrupted by hammering coming from above my unit. This has been the norm for the past 5 months. It started with the gym, which wasn’t actually renovated in any way that improved the function of the gym (no replacements made to the broke treadmills and no added equipment). Then it moved to the lobby, which they renovated to look more luxurious just so they could raise rents hundreds of dollars a month. Now they’re moving to the units, which once again is disturbing my day to day and making the place I pay to live an annoying place to be during the day.I am truly so tired of the construction noise and it is clear the management company and leasing office does not care.I would say you’ll probably have a fine experience if you move here in a few months, once the renovating is complete, but the plan is clearly to renovate all units. This could be going on for quite a while, as more apartments are vacated and able to be turned over to cheap vinyl flooring that looks more “luxury” in pictures so new tenants can pay $600 more than what I’m currently paying a month.

A great area with great views and very nice staff. As others have mentioned, it started off well but the new management company is definitely letting residents down. If you have zero issues during your time here, it will be a great apartment. For me, the constant lack of communication has become extremely frustrating and is the biggest problem this residence has.

DO NOT RENT HERE. As others have pointed out, the management is simply awful. Mills Properties is a joke. Everything was fine here until they bought our building earlier this year and since then it’s been horrible. One day in April they decided to start noisy construction work as early as 7am. They did not notify residents this would be happening. I woke up to a loud drilling noise that sounded like it was in my apartment. I thought it was my upstairs neighbor and nearly knocked on their door until I realized it was maintenance people working on the gym two floors below. Since then, countless mornings (including weekends) have started with LOUD drilling, hammering, and other noises that last the entire day. We were told it would only last a few weeks. Six months later, it’s still happening. It’s happening as I write this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve called Mills to ask about their schedule, when it will be finished, why it starts so early, etc. no answer, no callback. I’ve left countless voicemails and have called during alleged business hours. No response. I’ve emailed them. no response. They started this invasive construction without ever telling residents and only gave an update here and there when informing us we wouldn’t be able to enter our mail room or that the gym (which we pay for) is closed. Speaking of the gym, they spent weeks “renovating” it but there are multiple machines that still do not work. All they did was put a bunch of fitness buzzwords on the wall and update the bathrooms. The equipment is the same and it’s not functional. Obviously, all of these changes were to raise rent, which they did. If I re-signed here, I’d be paying an extra $400+ per month. Without sounding mean, I’m not sure what the in-building management does other than give tours. They don’t return calls from residents. They don’t make their emails known and there is not even a leasing office email on the website. You have to fill out a text box in the resident portal. They don’t respond to this either. During construction, there has been dust and debris everywhere, amenities closed off, constant noise, and an unstable living environment. My sleep and work schedule is completely at the will of this company who doesn’t communicate. I’m awoken when they begin and I have to leave the building entirely to take any calls. It’s pathetic. I could go on for hours about how bad this company is. They could cut my rent in half and I still wouldn’t renew my lease. There are many other apartments around here you should pursue over this place. Just make sure they’re not owned by Mills Properties.

The View at Forest Park was a (mostly) great building when I moved in in 2022, but a lot of things changed in the course of a year. The views are great and the units are very spacious. It is also a great location if you like walking to restaurants or to Forest Park.Moving in and out of the building is difficult. You have to park on the side of the building and drag all of your stuff up/ down a ramp to the basement and through a large utility room just to get to the elevator. It is a labor-intensive process to be aware of.Additionally, from the day that I moved in one of the three treadmills in the gym was broken. About halfway through my lease, a second treadmill broke and was never fixed. The gym in the building was one of the reasons I chose to live there, but I had to go at odd times to be able to use the one working treadmill. They say they are doing renovations on the building, including the gym, but they did not fix the treadmills for the year I lived there. It is worth inquiring about whether they will be renovating units near you. The unit above mine was being renovated for months and it was extremely loud. Most of this took place during working hours so if you do not work from home it may not be an issue, but it makes working at home much more difficult. In addition to noise from nearby renovations, the building itself is undergoing massive renovations. I'm not sure if this is related or not, but our water was shut off incredibly often, sometimes with warning but sometimes without. It was always for less than a day, but very inconvenient nonetheless. I'm not sure why they would need to turn the water off multiple times in a month. My rent was raised nearly 20% which they attempted to justify by saying that the renovations would be great. They also raised the parking fees a significant amount. It is clear that they do not have an interest in preserving the community that existed before Mills bought the property and they were not willing to negotiate at all. There is a required $300 pet deposit as well as $30/ month pet rent PER PET. I understand a pet deposit, but I do not understand the purpose of a pet rent that expensive. It feels like another way to make more money just because they can.I was charged large amounts for common area gas despite there being no mention of that in my lease. Additionally, they charged me for gas through their third party billing service despite my lease explicitly stating that I would be paying directly to the gas company. When I attempted to get clarification about the gas charges and billing methods, it was extremely hard to get in contact with anyone. When I did finally get responses, they were extremely vague or did not address my issue. I never did get clarification about why the billing and gas charges were different from what was written in my lease. In general, the people who work there are nice. But trying to get any type of clarification about issues can be very difficult and I left feeling like I had been cheated a bit as I never did get an explanation about the gas charges. I recommend being familiar with your lease and asking questions before you sign it so you aren't surprised by anything.Ultimately, I am disappointed by the increase in rental price and feel like many people have had to leave the building. It felt like there was a strong community in the building before.

The cathedral is a one of a kind marvel. It was one of the stops I wanted to take while in St. Louis, and I almost decided not to go. But thank the lord I did. The outside was an immaculate view, but the inside told a story. The entire ceiling was mosaic, with all the intricate detail and embellishments, it was something I could not take my eyes off of. They have tours scheduled to learn more about the history, but I walked in during their mass when they where having a sermon. They have candles you can light that's $1 dollar each. To my suprise they even have a mosaic museum downstairs to give you a bit of the cathedrals history and more about the architecture. Go during their mass times since it will be open to the public, this is something you don't want to miss out on.

I have received random, unexplained gas bills above $60 for multiple months without explanation. Since I have lived here, the elevators have been down on multiple occasions. I was told that my rent included heating and A/C by Shannon, my leasing agent, yet I am being charged random amounts for gas without any explanation. Keep in mind, I have received over $130 in gas charges the last two months without ever turning on the heat to my unit. I cannot turn the a/c on when it is hot because the building was not adequately prepared to be cooled. The only explanation that I have received is that it will be ready by “May”.I have reached out to the property manager’s email with no response on the matter, but I have received replies from the same email address in the past.Additionally, when I was set to move in, all elevators in the building were down for over a week. I was told that my lease would be modified to the date that I had to wait to move in, but it hasn’t. Keep in mind, I would have drove over 600 miles to find this information out had I not made a call to the leasing staff on the night I was set to move. I had to rearrange all of my plans and received a “sorry” and a “we’ll fix it”. This place appears to be in flux, and the tenants pay the price.I cannot say that I would recommend anyone to move here. Additionally, they refused to tell me what my rate would be to renew my lease until 30-60 days before it expires. I was told that someone would follow up with me on that regard months ago, but received no follow up. Additionally, I was forced to pay my rent with a cashier’s check, involving a $25 fee to open a qualified local bank account, because they decided to shut down and change the rent portal during the rent payment period earlier this year.I cannot access my lease agreement anywhere because they did not transfer the documents into the new portal. I do not feel valued, nor appreciated, ever since Mills Property purchased this building, perhaps even before. Consider these factors when selecting a place to live. I feel like I have to go talk in person to receive any response, and that when I do I am misled by statements that cannot be corroborated by a digital trail. This is unacceptable. It appears, through my experience, that The View are prioritizing value increasing factors at the expense of their residents from everything I have been experiencing lately.I’m very disappointed with my experience with Mills Properties thus far. Consider my situation.

We have been here nearly a month and are quite happy with the apartment. Additionally, the entire staff has been welcoming and friendly. We read several good reviews about the apartment complex and relocated here from out of state for school. We were pleased after speaking with Shannon when we called for availability in mid-January. Especially, with the monthly rent, the student application fee waiver, and the potential for a 15-month lease at a reduce price. However, we were not informed there would be a transition in ownership. A few weeks after, when we applied, all the rates increased dramatically under the new management company. No 15-month lease or no student application fee waiver.Furthermore, upon submitting our application, we asked if any move-in specials were available. We were informed there were not, but less than a week after moving in, we found one on the website. We asked nunerous times if we qualified for the special, but it took more than 3 weeks to get a final answer of, "No!" I just wish transparency and clearer commincation were much better.

Towne House is great! Even before moving in, Shannon was very accommodating and helped me find a unit that was right for me. Once I was moved in she helped me secure my parking spot and kept track of when it was going to be available for me. 10 months in now and couldn't ask for more responsive management, maintenance team, and awesome door men!

Just passed a year living at Townehouse and love living here. The office staff, Ashley and Shannon, know residents by name and always reach out to help. Building also has 24/7 doormen and Alonzo, Chris, Rick and Jim are all amazing. The building does really feel like a community, and there’s events throughout the months to really bring everyone together. Definitely a dog friendly building which is a huge plus, and close to everything you need in St. Louis
