The Muny is a precious St. Louis gem! Wonderful outdoor theater venue! Seating available for all price ranges, including free seating (first come, first served) for those who are able to arrive early! The grounds outside the Muny are beautiful, and offer a great place to enjoy a "bring your own picnic" dinner prior to entering the venue. This is a great place to enjoy musical theatrical orifuctions

I worried there in the summer and I love it. Seeing the actor in the musical and seeing the musical. It was so exciting. It made my day and made my summer. I was happy working there.

Beautiful, outdoor venue. Summer theater was great. Loved Large stage, tremendous cast & fireworks. Lines for concessions & restrooms were long, but were well organized & moved quickly. Convenient parking near venue w/enjoyable walk they park.

Always a good time at the Muny. Great atmosphere full of people enjoying the show. Always long lines, but they manage to make them move quickly all around the theater.

Over the years the uni has tried to provide a well-rounded selection of Broadway musicals. I do miss the week that they had with different entertainment every night. Saw so many great shows. The new administration has really improved the staging, speakers and talent. The video added a lot. The shows moved from scene to scene even better than before. The newish fans help but when it is 90+ degrees and increased humidity, nothing can help. Try the chocolate hardtop ice cream treats. They're great! You can bring a small beverage cooler with you, but all bags and coolers are inspected at ticket taker stations. Most of the best seats are held by season ticket holders, so get tickets when they go on sale. Enjoy.

The last show of the season was great. Sister Act on stage had good singing, acting, and effects. The weather was nice and breezy.

MJ and I went to see "Sister Act" at the Muny last night. We both enjoyed it. The acting and the singing were top notch. Everyone else at the musical seemed to feel the same. It was a bit cool during the performance, but that did not matter. I would say pick a show that appeals to you and go.

I was lucky enough to be chosen for the teen chorus of Jesus Christ Superstar the first summer I lived in St. Louis. It was an experience I'll never forget and helped me start falling in love with this city. I've loved every show I've seen there for 25+ years and now get to bring my kids to shows. A classic St. Louis experience!

The Muny is a magical place. A must see for anyone coming to STL in the summer. Tremendous Broadway shoes right here in STL. Actors fly in from all over the country to audition for the show's. No other place like it.

I grew up in the St. Louis area and had somehow never been to the Muny. I'd wanted to, just never made it. I finally made it to the venue to see a show, and it did not disappoint! As you park in the dedicated free parking lot, or the accessible free parking lot, you'll notice the beautiful well maintained grounds where you can find a corner to take photos, have a picnic before the show, or just relax in the gorgeous surroundings. The night we went it stormed earlier in the evening. That was a good thing because it had been super hot outside and cooled things down perfectly! But, if it rains before a show, the seats will be wet. This is a fully open air theater with no cover. They do rent seat cushions for $5 each, which will do to cover most of the seat and seat back. Plus, having a cushion for a few hours in a hard material theater seat is helpful. You can also bring in towels, umbrellas, and I brought the picnic blanket I keep in my car since it's waterproof and cushy. You can plan multiple types of evenings out including brining food and drink for a picnic on the grounds, getting dinner at one of an incredible number of restaurants in the area, or get a pizza at concessions and eat at your seat. You can bring in food and drink, including alcohol. You can also purchase food, drink, and alcohol from the many concession stands around the theater. There is definitely no shortage of these stands, and it's really nice that you don't have to look hard for them or wait in line too long. Prices are relatively good for a concession stand and not mutch different from what you'll pay anywhere else. You can check the website for more information on all of that though. I recommend doing so in case something has changed. The venue itself is beautiful with an open-air design. There are several huge fans way above the seating on posts to help circulate air. The seating is on an angled design, so you can better see over those in front of you. There is a steeper rise on either side of the theater to get to the seating. It's a short area of steeper paved hill, but it's good to know what you're getting yourself into. I think they have accessibility services for assistance if you need it, but I'm not sure what all that entails. The stage is very large, situated between well designed side structures. The lighting and sound are great, especially considering it's all outside. The show itself was fantastic with great actors, and the set design and costumes were fantastic. We saw Little Shop of Horrors, and it was just so good. The plant, Audrey II, was just so well done and acted they almost stole the show!Highly recommend a might out at The Muny! As a helpful hint, at least years ago, you used to be able to go and wait to see if the show sold out. If it didn't, there would be some free seats available. This is a risk, but if you've got time and want to save money, it's an option. I think this is also outlined on their website, but look to see just in case.Tickets are pretty inexpensive if you do buy them. They are more expensive the closer you sit to the stage, but the view and spund are good no matter where you are. Great place that's just a treasure for the area!

We attended a performance of Sister Act, Tuesday August 15, at your beautiful outdoor theater. We were disappointed in the perforamance and that they disrepected the church. I believe they disrepected the audience too, when the three body guards (who were good singers) used their body language to show us how they would lure the nuns with their sex. (the audience I noted did not clap much for them. We were looking forward to the good music of the original movie so were disappointed there too.The movie did not disrepect the church to tell the story. It is not even sensible to say this is acceptable in today's world. Mary Ann H

We came here to see west side story. To start, I liked that there was security and metal detectors coming in. There is also a lot of bathrooms and there is a concessions stand with alcohol that did not disappoint. There is tons of seating. The stage itself had the sunset behind it so it was amazing to sun setting as the show was about to start. I guess people just think they can go in and sit wherever as there was people in our seats. There was open room and seating in the back so we just moved to another available spot. I'm giving 3 stars because I feel that the tickets are ridiculously overpriced for the quality of show. The back seating section should not be priced as high as it is. You can't clearly hear what is being said at all with the echoing. I understand charging a-lot for the front rows, but the back shouldn't have to be paying that much. The cost is more expensive than a Broadway show! Ridiculous.

The Muny is a must for St. Louis summers. Such a great venue with amazing shows. I have been attending the Muny since 1965 and have seen so many amazing actors. If you haven't been do yourself a favor and come to a show.
