Great place. Nice people. Brought in a Tahoe wrecked with hailed damage. Schaefer took care of everything! This was not an easy job, but Schaefer was still able to make the care look brand new. They communicated with me the whole time with updates. They were very helpful when it came to insurance making sure everything was taken care of. Would go back again.

Spectacular repair job! Very glad I brought my car here. Mazda's red is notoriously difficult to paint match and these guys nailed it. Definitely recommend taking your car here, Timothy was great to work with!

Maplewood location - had communication problems for my visit. Reviews said the work they do is fine, I just couldn't get to that point.
Was sent by insurance to have a repair estimate done here. Insurance did the scheduling and sent me an email verification. 1st I was told that Nationwide didn't send them a notification of my appointment. Because I wasn't on the schedule, I couldn't be seen today. They first said this was the fault of insurance.
Afterwards, I called Nationwide to see what happened and had Nationwide speak to the front desk at Schafer. I was then told that they didn't see the notification about my appointment via email and thus they didn't contact me to let me know that there was actually no one was in to do the estimate. So I was unable to be seen. Was frustrating because I planned my day around the appointment.
An explanation of the email was "I didn't know that's [my appointment] what they sent over."
Appointment was 2pm today, a recent notification I was shown was sent yesterday at 3:35pm (they also told me it was sent at 1am day of appointment before looking back through emails). The front desk told me they have an internal schedule that insurance doesn't have access too. Apparently, they take appointment bookings online and then have to match it up with an internal schedule based on personal availability; sometimes they reschedule if it doesn't match. Because this wasn't done, I left frustrated that I took a significant chunk out of my day to get over there for the appointment that never happened.
They offered to schedule me a week away since I couldn't be seen today.

From drop off to pick up this experience was fantastic! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The turnaround was so quick and Tim was incredibly helpful and reassuring. Schaefer Maplewood just repaired by 2012 Prius. From the time I dropped off the vehicle until I picked it up, the process went smoothly. Jess was helpful explaining the process by phone beforehand. Timothy was helpful and patient updating me on the repair portion of the process. Larry was especially helpful coordinating the replacement of the auxiliary battery. The smooth coordination between Enterprise and Schaefer made the process easier and less anxiety-producing. Thank you to the entire Schaefer Maplewood Team!

Excellent job. Really the only complaint, if I could call it that, was that it ended up taking longer then expected because there was more damage that wasn’t detectable until they got into it and the parts took a fat minute to come in.Services: Painting

Twice in 2023 I have had occasion to have my 2018 Corolla repaired by Schaefer Autobody Centers. The initial experience was through Progressive insurance, the insurance carried by the person who backed into my car. The second experience was through State Farm insurance, the insurance carried by another person who backed into my car (twice in one year!! oh, well!!). Both experiences were excellent from a customer service point of view and from a quality of repair point of view. I highly recommend that if you're in need of autobody work that you consider using Schaefer.
