This is a good place to visit if you like architecture, glassware, antique furniture, and oil paintings. The campus setting is beautiful with water features and greenery. This house is a true display of opulence. There is no fee and you are free to explore the house on your own. There is a university parking garage at the top of the hill on Laclede Street and is about a seven minute walk to the museum.

As someone who loves history the Samuel Coupples house did not disappoint. Before going in I didn’t expect much, just a cool looking house. Stepping in made me feel like I was walking through time, the echos of the people who lived there in the past stuck in the ears of time. There are a few places which made me want to research them more and the Cupples house was one of them. I learned about the niche side of St.Louis’s history from visiting this site. The tickets are free and you can explore the house and immerse yourself. This was an unexpected hidden gem

Absolutely awesome house! Beautiful woodwork throughout the house. Nice antique furniture, most of it slightly older than the house (house was completed in 1890). There are some parts of the house that are off limits to visitors. The price was free for our group of 4. If you enjoy touring grand old houses, you will likely enjoy Cupples house.

This is a lovely place on the SLU campus! The house is beautiful and restored very well. They provide a very informative self-guide binder that I found easy to follow. The student who was working there (Hi Selam!) very helpfully and cheerfully found the answer to an obscure question I had. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours. And it's air conditioned which is important in July 2022!A few notes: As of 7/8/2022, there is construction going on and you can not get in through the front. If you walk around to the back, there is an entrance there. While there is a wheelchair lift that will get you into the house, there is no access to the second or third floors other than the stairs.

I haven't visited this house, just discovered it existed. However, I grew up in St. Louis and went to Samual Cupples Elementary School on Euclid and Cupples St. So a visit to this house is on my bucket list. It's part of my roots and sounds fabulous!

The house is not open except to students and staff. This wasn't obvious until we arrived at the door. A snotty student inferred that their sign was enough when I suggested that they might want to update their info online.
