Great resource for SLU supplies! If you like goodies..... Stop in here for a treat. Parking is a little concerning if you aren't familiar with the area. After a quick call to the store, I was able to locate a space.

Very helpful staff! I went in today for a sweatshirt and received great service!I noticed a lot of complaints about pricing. To be fair, I don’t think they can compete with other sellers on Amazon and chegg who may be able to set their own prices.I went to price match last spring and I was initially denied because I was looking at another seller who had a pretty low price versus directly from Amazon. But whoever helped me showed me the correct thing I should look for and I was able to still get my books cheaper!I’ve only had positive experiences from the bookstore!

They rip off students with misleading business practices! Very vague description of books you are ordering. Don't buy from here they rip you off. I thought I was paying for a book, but I got only an overpriced access code. I could have rented it from manufacturer for significantly less. SLU should be ashamed of how they conduct this business.

I am super frustrated because they are closed on Saturday and Sunday, yet they haven’t updated their google hours. AND when I called to make sure they are open, the message says to check the website for their hours. THE WEBSITE ALSO SAYS THEY ARE OPEN FROM 9-3 ON SATURDAY. It is really not that hard to update hours for the phone or website, and not waste people’s time driving there and parking. Whoever is in charge of managing this should really be replaced. The website is terrible as well which is why I wanted to go to the store in person.

SLU's bookstore gouges unwitting college students. Every book in this bookstore can be purchased on Amazon, Chegg, or various other online stores for HALF THE PRICE. This is not an exaggeration. My most recent interaction with the bookstore drove me to write this review, in hope that other students can protect themselves. I needed to purchase a book for a theology course, being that it was relatively inexpensive I deferred to the bookstore. After 3 visits over the course of 2 weeks the book was out-of-stock, my request that the store order more during my first visit went unfulfilled. I was told to order the book online, so I did. My order was taken for a used rental book. However, the bookstore conveniently charged my card TWICE the amount for a *NEW* rental. This *NEW* rental price is a 1$ difference with the NEW PURCHASE PRICE. Given that this is a relatively inexpensive book I could easily afford the price increase, which was charged to my debit card without approval. HOWEVER, if you are purchasing expensive books and expect to pay for a USED book BEWARE, they will DOUBLE YOUR COST WITHOUT INFORMING YOU. A $150 rental can turn into a $300 rental.

I have dealt with this bookstore for 2 years now (not by choice). If it’s an option for you, go somewhere else (such as Amazon). I have found new books on there as much as 100 dollars cheaper than the bookstores used for purchase. They are a straight rip off. I once purchased a dictionary for German, it’s missing an entire section. Should have seen the replacement they tried to give me. Today I spent 750 dollars on 5 books and a homework program. 3 of the books were used. They are all in very rough shape including damaged spines. (Normally I check, but they were packed and I was in a hurry) I wish I could say this is an isolated incident with them, but it’s not. My suggestions to the bookstore:

Pretty much like any college book store. The vast area of spiritwear is very cramped so you will bump in to other customers. Two floors at least spreads the merchandise out, so actual book buyers can find what they are looking for in relative peace. The students working here were not particularly personable, desiring to talk to each other durimg the sales transaction and dismissing us when the sale was through. The store is easy to locate.

Pretends to get lowest price for students, but straight up scams them. Automatically sets things to rent for a single semester even though many classes might use textbooks for the full year, almost doubling the price of the textbook. Will also buy new books for everyone, and then say that they tried to get them used.

I've ordered books from them a few times in recent years (only when they have a sale), and shipment has always been *very* prompt & the books have been packed very well.
