I have been trying to contact them for a billing question for WEEKS. Either their call system is not working or they put you on hold with no music or any indication that they are going to actually connect (it is just a dead, silent line). YOU CANNOT GET AHOLD OF THEM.

Charged me twice when I paid by phone. I was already paying a double bill this month and now my property tax check is going to bounce and MSD does not care. They say they cannot reverse a payment for 30 days. They sure could take the payment(s) fast though. My mom is disabled and on social security and we are struggling.Greedy corporations at their finest.

You know we all wait until the very last minute to pay you on purpose, right? There is no accident about it. If it was easier to pay, it might help. Also if your collections auto dialer didn't hang up on me when I try to connect to pay my bill, that would help too.

They practice in price gouging. Then when they over charge you (they charged me 4xs for one bill), they will refuse to refund what they’ve overcharged. Seems others have similar issues, in which case people should file complaints with the AGs office online.

40 minutes on the phone re dialing in through the automated system to get to a person. Only to be transferred to employees who kept just hanging up for NO reason!!! Garbage service, garbage employees. Fully automate this and find new staff for when a customer needs a person. Ridiculous!!

“I recently visited the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District website, and I must say, it’s an invaluable resource for anyone living in or around the St. Louis area. The website is exceptionally well-organized, making it easy to find essential information about sewer services, billing, and environmental initiatives.

If it were possible to give them zero stars I would. The rudest people work here, they clearly hate their lives and all of their customers. Why does it take months to update the number of toilets I'm paying for? And why does MSD keep charging me double the amount my bill says and then saying they'll credit my account bc they can't give a refund? Honestly I'm very close to getting legal action because I don't understand how this isn't theft.

The robocalls to businesses are out of control. If a business manages sewer accounts for multiple people, they will get spam robocalls multiple times a day and there is no way to stop it. Even trying to circumvent it by pressing 2 when you get the call will not work. You'll get a message saying there's a technical issue and the call will hang up. When a businesses phone number is listed on multiple accounts, call the number ONCE, not once for every single account. It's ridiculous and no one has the time to keep answering the phone for the robocalls.

One of the most predatory bills I have. Can't pay online because my account hasn't been updated since 2021. So when I do it's not applied to my account. I currently owe this months bill of $65ish online/app account says I owe close to $300 ?

The worst customer experience I've ever encountered. Came home to find low water pressure (hardly any water). I called and the first woman directed me to a phone number for Saint louis City Water. I called and the number stated they couldn't take calls and proceeded to ring for several minutes. I called MSD back and tried to let the next woman that answered know there was no way to get through that number and I asked if there was any other number for me to call or anyone else to speak with. She was extremely rude, belligerent for no reason. I said I didn't know what to do. I was just trying to figure out why we had no water. She yelled at me and hung up on me when I was being nice and just asking for help. I called MSD a third time and a much nicer woman answered the phone, she right away told me that Saint Louis City had a large water main break in my area. I thanked her etc. Whomever the 2nd person I spoke with was really should be let go and probably needs to find a new non-public facing/customer service position. Treating people like that is disgusting and messed up. As someone who is trying to recover from a suicide attempt last month, that conversation really didn't help. You guys really need to retrain some people.

I could list multiple bad experiences but I'll just focus on today. Today is Tuesday the 31st. I paid my bill via phone on the 28th. It still hasn't posted, & I've gotten 2 calls today from MSD with the same balance seemingly outstanding. Their rep (who I do kind of feel sorry for) assures me that I'm not going to get charged a late fee. We'll see.

ongoing issues with our house sewer account transfer.Spoke with them several times to get resolved. A couple times I was able to get ahold of someone who saw the discrepancy and then put on hold, just to have the call automatically hang up on me. And again, today, I called spoke with someone and as soon as we were speaking of the issue of overpayment, the call gets "dropped". I immediately call back, get to the customer service , and get hung up on again! Nothing but frustration with them. I wish there is another option for service.

For over a decade the neighborhood that I live in has had back up concerns. We fixed the back up concern on our property and we have installed a sump pump. Several of my neighbors have had sewage backup in the past two years, we have not. I know that we are responsible for our sewage lateral. We have taken care of our pipes. One of my neighbors paid thousands of dollars to have his basement and pipes fixed. The outcome is that main concern in in the alley way and has been suggested to belong to MSD. We just recently had a new concern. Our plumber also stated that the main backup is most likely coming from the main line and the city should be responsible. I called MSD and asked them to re evaluate their lines. The person I spoke to refused to even schedule to look at them. They automatically referred me to a lottery. When I asked to have details either mailed to me or if the information stated could be found on line, the lady that I was talking to said , "no maam". She stated that there was no one else that I could talk to or leave a message for to call me back. She stated that she was the only one working. She refused to give me her name or the title of her position. I am looking to find out if anyone has more information pertaining to this process and how I might get support in understanding this and if there is a way to get MSD to take accountability or assess their portion of the line.
