I was trying to find a working shopping cart for handicaped shoppers. The one available did not work. I reported the issue to the female at the courtesy desk. Her reply was we know. Why not hang a sign on the cart telling patrons it is broken and we just couldn't care less?

I purchased a lawn mower from Menards it was a gas lawn mower I only used it once and it was defective the back wheels did not move I took it back to the store the same day I used it and they would not return it because I put gas in it I didn't understand the policy because how would you know a lawn mower didn't work unless you put gasoline in it to try it out I believe this was a fraud! I don't believe you should get a store credit cuz I would never go back to the store they were very rude to me I'm explaining what the lawn mower is doing they said I had to send it to authorized dealer that would repair it why should I get a lawn mower that only use one time to repair center I wanted my money back they refused to give me my money back I don't feel it's fair why would a policy say you can't return a gas lawn mower if you put gas in it I don't agree with it I don't like this store they were very rude the manager on duty was rude she didn't even ask me my name I have my receipt and she never gave me to authorized dealership to take it to because she said I don't know I don't know where you can take it to I don't have that information I was totally surprised I'm very upset

Menards rebates take advantage of you. Rebates are a hassle and force you in to returning to the store to use the rebates. Thats assuming the rebate isnt lost or stolen in the mail.
If you return an item that was purchased on a rebate and you don't have the receipt.... You get a refund for the Sale price or clearance price of that item.
Menards knows most people aren't going to use their rebates anyway. If they really wanted to give you a fair price they wouldn't do the rebates scam.
If you will like to see lower prices without the rebate hassle please like this post. Public opinion matters and maybe they will change their policy.

Customer service here is trash, im up here trying to rent a truck they are saying they cannot find the keys and aren’t being polite at all. Brenda & TYLAR and were extremely rude and acted like I was inconveniencing them.

It's a big box store with a lot of selection, They have some nice plants there. One major warning: The Rebate.. BUYER BEWARE.
You will see prices on large ticket items that INCLUDE a "rebate" of 11%.
IT IS NOT A REBATE. It's an IN STORE CREDIT.
You need to look twice to see the actual price.
Also, it will be MONTHS and MONTHS before you get it. (Mine took 5 months). This is to ensure you do not split your purchase and use the credit on the 2nd half. I'm sure there are other reasons, but this is a big one.
So be very careful of this. It's not "dishonest" but it's also not as clear as it should be. You HAVE to read the small print.
If you are a constant shopper at Menards the In store credit may be a good idea. As for me, I tend to avoid Menards due to this business choice. I prefer straight up, clear sales and deals and I don't like "credits" that force me to keep shopping there.
Choose what works best for you but now you are aware.

Great products and friendly staff! But please...get yourselves some more dang flatbed carts and place them very conspicuously at the entrance! Tired of walking all over kingdom come for ten minutes just to find a cart that can hold the large heavy items sold at your home improvement store (when I could've been in and out in that time had one been available). Also, open up another entrance/exit by the garden center, especially in spring/summer.

During the snowstorm yesterday a 16 year old got into a car accident in front of my home. I went out to assist him, and the first thing he did after we called the police was call Menards to tell them he would miss his shift - his car was stuck on top of a fire hydrant and couldn't be moved until the weather let up.The woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude to him. She just said him missing work was a problem for her amd he needed to figure it out. She didn't ask if he was OK or express any concern. Just told him to call back when he figured out if he could get a ride.It was appalling treatment of a respectful kid who was just in his first accident and was trying to do his best. If this is how Menards treats their employees, I will never be shopping here again.

I had to purchase new locks at this location recently and received superb and phenomenal customer service from the manager in lighting. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and accommodating.
