Max refund guaranteed? Sure, if you weren't prior military. Had no grasp on military tax rules/law and told me the 7 months I served in California didn't mean anything since I spent more than 30 days in Missouri AFTER I got out. My state tax exempt while I was in California? Didn't exist. The extra money I gave to the state while I was serving so I got a bigger state return? Nope. Told me I owed the state $29. Tried to teach the "tax professional" the military tax laws, since I was dealing with it for the last 4 years, and she argued with me and brought up her "23 years of experience". Obviously 23 years isn't enough. So I went to Block advisors down the street, and behold, they knew what they were doing and I GOT BACK $898 from the state. Beware coming here if you're a recent vet.
