I was greeted by a pleasant older lady with glasses who pointed me to the greenhouse in the back.
The employee in the greenhouse seemed annoyed when I asked for plants that helped clean the air. She said that the affects wouldn't be that dramatic. I decided to leave since the prices for full grown plants seemed high and I was getting an antisocial vibe from the greenhouse staff member who hovered nearby while I looked around. I decided to leave.
There was a group of about five older people in their 50s and 60s in the front of the store. They were all involved in friendly conversation. I stopped to look at pottery on my way out and heard the talking die down. I turned around and they were all watching me like I was going to steal a ceramic planter! It was like something out of the Jim Crow era.
Very weird vibes in that place. I'll never go back and would advise people of color to consider other places of business. I would rate this as a one star establishment but will give it two because of the older lady with glasses; she was the only saving grace.

Wow. What poor service. I never write reviews but feel the need to for a specific worker at this place. There’s a lady named Marisa who I believe is one of the managers. She’s a gingi which gives more of an explanation to her fiery attitude. She in my opinion is one of the worst and unpleasant people to work with. She has such an attitude, is arrogant, and rude. She really needs an attitude check or to get out of there because she caused the store to loose me as a customer, my parents and friends who have had horrible experiences with her as well.
I came in on Sunday to get my plants re-potted, she seemed very bothered she had to help a customer. Any question I had she just seemed so annoyed I was asking.
It was the end of day so I assumed she had just had a long day. But I was wrong! Came back today to pick up my plants and she had that same obnoxious attitude.
I came in on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday late afternoon to return a plant I bought but the store closed early which wasn’t mentioned online. Marisa told me the plant (which I got from the greenhouse) was not able to be returned. So I quickly corrected her and said the website states that plants can be returned and she goes “well that’s within 48 hrs” (so she changed the rules) and I said I came back twice within 48 hrs and the store had closed early so I attempted and that’s on the store. She said there’s nothing we can do. So I asked to speak with someone higher up and she goes ok this one time I’ll do it. She really needs to get her story straight.
Anyways after reading many of these negative reviews I’m sure they were all speaking about Marissa without knowing her name. The store is beautiful but as my parents and friends say it’s just so not worth the bad customer service. Unfortunately Marisa really gives people such an unpleasant experience and I’d never come back here again. I just want to say, all the other woman were so sweet. Unfortunately Marissa really ruins people’s experience.

You want to make sure that you are prefect customer before you go. I went there couple times; perhaps it is my fault, I felt tiny bit uncomfortable. One time I got a caladium. I just mentioned that I didn’t have a lot of direct sunlight at my apartment. One lady suddenly turned down her face and said, “why don’t you just get plants that need shade” Another time I was hesitating for an orchid which it flowers have faded. I was curious about the color but I ran out of my data to access the internet. So I asked at the cashier if they have photo of when it was blooming. One if the lady was like “why don’t you look it up.” Although they helped me look it up after I explained my internet, I felt guilty about not being a perfect customer that behaved well on everything.

First off, beautiful place. So many plants to choose from, all well taken care of. Secondly, THE STAFF!!!! Such nice people over the phone and in-person. Helped my daughter and me find the right plant for our terrarium. Super fair prices! Now I just wanna go hang out there for the good vibes.

Great experience shopping for new landscaping at Garden Heights Nursery. Needed serious help with our landscaping and brought photos from around the house and they helped us pick out the right shrubs and a tree that brought colors and texture to our landscaping.

This is probably my favorite nursery in the area. They have such a big selection of everything that you need for your garden. I always felt like I got lost in plants heaven everytime I was here. I got 2 of my fiddle leave figs here a few years ago, and they were beautiful. I also picked up most of my planters from Garden Heights. The people working outside always greeted me or asked if I needed help with something when they saw me walking by. I was here last week to inquire about planting service and Nick went above and beyond to help me with all of my questions.

This place is overpriced and their customer service can only be described as arrogant, snotty, and smug.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

So I usually get my plants from Lowes. This year, they didn't seem to have a great variety, so I Googled, "best plant nurseries for variety," in St. Louis. Low and behold Garden Heights was in the first top 5. So I read a few reviews(all positive), and I decided to make that trip.
Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the quick turn onto the parking lot from BigBen. There's just one way in, one way out. The lot isn't huge. However, it was quick and convenient, even for it being busy. Ppl were coming in and getting what that needed and immediately opening up more space for other ppl to park. Again, strangely, it worked out fine.
Moving on, once parked, I started my journey. There was such a variety of plants, trees, shrubs, etc. I knew I'd find something that I liked. I ran into an employee named Jack. Super helpful, and he had a knack for humorous sarcasm. Lol. I pulled a couple of plants from under the shady area and asked Jack if they would do well in half sun and half shade. Jack asked me if I got the plants I had from under the "shady area," and I replied, "Yes." His sarcasm was undeniable??? it was too funny. He was a good ol' chum, I might say. Everyone I interacted with at Garden Heights was wonderful. Someone takes customer service seriously at that place. I love that.
In closing, I'm posting a few pictures of "the ladies" for your viewing pleasure. The planters I used are harvest style Asiano wood. They are absolutely gorgeous, and the plants I purchased at Garden Heights complement them wonderfully. So get out this weekend and go check them out! Tell em BigBen sent ya! Cheers! PS. Make sure you actually click on the pictures to see the full picture. If not, they look cut off.
So I'm posting "The Ladies" recent pictures after about 3weeks (5/31 today date) since purchasing and re-potting. Just in time for Memorial Day. They look amazing! ?

Set out with my neighbor for some gorgeous flowers & plants for our gardens. This place is huge and offers quite a lot if you're looking for a good variety and prices. The staff was fabulous in helping find a cart, parking, and knowledgeable as well. Even found a bug spray that won't hurt the flowers, but stop the insects. Can't say enough good things about this nursey, it's one of the best I have found around town.
There is plenty of parking too.

My new favorite nursery!!! Their selection of plants blew me away but what I loved most was their amazing selection of both herbs and natives! I haven’t found this huge a variety of natives, especially flowering ones, anywhere else! Staff is also super friendly and helpful! Highly recommend Garden Heights!

Always great plants remarkably jammed packed into a small area. Cool bathroom as well
