Worst service. It was a weeknight and there were only 2 other tables, but it took 2 hours, even though we ordered right away and ate quickly, because the waiter was so slow. Took at least half an hour for him to do each step (come to take orders, bring check, bring back check, etc.). When he finally brought the check and we paid and had an uber waiting outside, he said he had to bring new checks and have us re-pay because he forgot to put group gratuity fee (we were a party of 5). This took him another 30 minutes. Mind you he only had 2 other tables. He was literally just standing there talking to colleagues the entire time.

I ordered dinner at the bar at Copia in Clayton. Excellent wine selection. Food was very good. Hostess was really friendly, I believe she is a college student. Very nice and checked on us throughout the evening. There was a young man playing acoustic guitar and singing in the bar area, very talented. Overall I felt that my Saturday evening with friends at Copia was a well spent evening. I will be back.

A friend made reservations for 9/18 at 6:30pm. We arrived and stood at the front for around 5 minutes before being greeted. We told the gentleman we had reservations but he seemed confused and then looked at a piece of paper with scribbled handwriting on it. Once greeted, we were offered our choice of seats but then it was redacted after another member of the waitstaff loudly said "I told you not to take anymore reservations or sit people". The young man sat us and poured us each a water. We sat there for 10 minutes and listened to the kitchen staff and wait staff talk about how they weren't going to be able to serve anymore people and that it would be at least a 45 minute wait. We counted 24 other patrons in the restaurant. We decided to leave. The young man who sat us offered his apologies but didn't seem sincere. I would not recommend Copia to any friends or family.

My daughter and I had dinner at Copia tonight before a concert. We made reservations but I was surprised to walk in and find it fairly empty. I thought that would mean no problems with service and we'd make the concert in plenty of time- I was not correct. The server was very nice and apologetic- but it was slow. Our food was decent but a little overpriced. Wine selection is good, but serving nice wine in stemless glasses seems weird to me. Scallops were yummy but only 3 for $31? Wish it was better.

What a joke. Those are the only 3 words I have to say. I have to keep writing, and increase the character count in order to have yelp take this as a review, but again, three words: What. A. Joke. Reservation was lost (party of 20). Wait staff was down to 2 (it's Saturday night). Manager was a clown. Food sucked. Overpriced. Complete waste. If you're thinking about it, just don't.

Party of 28! When you first walk in there is no hostess so if you are not a large party you may be ignored for a while. Decor is very nice and the place looks clean but the service was horrible. Since it was a big party and all the first thing I did was go to the bar to order two drinks. A shot of Patron on ice and a glass of wine , 20 minutes and $30 later I had the drinks. Everyone at The table got their food at separate times. The food for an upscale restaurant was ..... let me just say not so great. Meals were like warm and undesirable. The kids wouldn't even eat the chicken tenders. The chicken tenders had no flavor and the salmon had no flavor. The pasta was cold. Two alcohol beverages had fruit flies in it and bugs flying around. When the waiter saw me looking in the glass of water he asked what was wrong I told him about the bugs so they brought a new drink but still tried to charge for it. I tried to give the reviews the benefit of the doubt but please read them; the truth is in the review!!!!

I booked a reservation for Copia for restaurant week and their menu looked broad and intriguing. Unfortunately, the food was not good. 1) Salad- the Copia salad was lackluster, it was half a handful of mixed greens and one cherry tomato cut in half with balsamic vinagrette. 2) Halibut- The fish was very tough, bland and difficult to swallow. The sides were not seasoned and also bland. The presentation was great and the platter looked beautiful, but unfortunately the taste was not impressive. 3) The Goey Butter- I was hoping that the dessert may have been the redeeming factor in this three course menu however the goey butter was not goeey but lukewarm and solid like eating pieces of semi sweet tofu. 4) The copia house white whine- overall great combination of flavors, slightly dry but the sweetness makes up for it. 5) Service- We did not realize bread and butter was only upon request, waiters ignored us completely with the exception of the times they brought each course of the meal. All in all, for a restaurant so expensive, we would have expected at least some redeeming qualities. Having few opportunities to enjoy a nice meal, there are many other restaurants that you should and can try before coming here.

I reserved a space for 22 guest with @Copia at the downtown location for a birthday dinner on 7/7/18. I initially set up the reservations 1.5 month in advance. after speaking with the event coordinator that day never received any other form of communication for her. i was told that I would get a email explaining all of the details and someone would all me 1 week before my event, needless to say I never got either. There was several problem with Copia and how my party was handled. 1) The event coordinator was unresponsive, and had the reservation for the wrong number of people. 2) the next time I heard from a staff member from @Copia was at 5pm the same day of the event to give me details. I had to learn of important details from ML like... only one waitress/waiter would be taking care of my party of 22, each person was to spend a minimum of 35.00 and she was very apologetic that no one had contacted me prior to then. 3) When we arrived @Copia had an odor that put me in the mind of a damp basement. 4) I expressed my concern that we needed 2 waiters/waitresses but I was ignored. 5) The process of taking orders for drinks, appetizers and food was too much for one person, the long periods of time we had to wait for our selected items was absolutely ridiculous. 6) our food should have came out together so the party could eat as one, for the most part. Over half of the 22 guest complained of cold food and several of the orders was wrong, in addition to that oner person sent his food back 3 time because he was given what appeared to be prime rib instead of ribeye. the cuts of beef and how it was prepared was awful there was no grill marks on the meat so it seemed to be either pan seared or boiled first, and it was tasteless...meaning no seasoning. However i ddi like my Shrimp and Grits, as well as the other guest that ordered it. The plating of the Lamb Chops was horrible, it was just thrown on top of the mashed potatoes. 7) We had to ask the staff to turn on music in our reserved area several times. 8) Most of the guest would leave the dinner table, go to the bar and order drinks so they would receive them in a timely manner. At this point im very annoyed and I excuse myself from the table and request to speak with a manger at the bar. When he arrived I expressed my concerns of why did we not have two servers when the restaurant was clearly not busy and staff members hanging out at the bar. I was given nothing but excuses of how there are 3 locations, new kitchen staff, the and the reason why the coordinator didn't get back with me is because she was extremely busy at the Clayton restaurant. I also took ML aside and praised her for all that she did, it was too much for her. The manager did try to appease me with splitting the checks and gave free desserts to who wanted it. I WAS READY TO GO!! I picked @Copia because I have been to some dinner parties and the customer service and food was impeccable. Not so much anymore. I think it's ok for me to speak for the other 21 guest...We will never go back and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. -- with Deborah Mickey Thomas and 5 others.

Several years ago my wife and I received a gift card to Copia for $200. About 6 months after receiving the card, we made reservations there to celebrate our anniversary. The food was above average and the restaurant had a cool ambiance; however, when the bill came, we presented our gift card for payment and were informed that it would not be accepted. When we asked why, the manager came over and said that a new owner bought the restaurant a month prior and instituted a policy that he would not be accepting gift cards issued by the previous owner. We had no way of knowing this, and as broke college students at the time, we certainly would not have otherwise visited the restaurant. As a pathetic sign of goodwill, the manager offered us his most sincere apologies and a glass of champagne on the house. My wife (in tears) pulled out a credit card, and we were forced to pay the sum off incrementally over the next several months, with interest. I called the restaurant in the days following the incident and was given the runaround. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.

My sister and I decided to have dinner at Copia on a Friday evening. We were extremely disappointed in the food and service. Our waiter, Alex, seemed to only be offering up $60+ bottles of wine, and when he became aware that we were only looking to spend $30-40 on a bottle of wine, his attitude/service towards us changed. He had an extremely arrogant personality and made us feel like we weren't good enough to be in the restaurant. After ordering the wine of our choice, I asked him about a menu item. His response was nothing less than rude. He spoke to me like I was uneducated. The only good menu item we had was the Arancini. The side salads were full of expired red lettuce. The pasta we chose to split was simply not good. I am sad to say I am not sure I will ever go back to Copia. I have had a great experience in the past, however this time the waiter, Alex, completely ruined our experience.

The bartender was extremely rude to me. I am stuck in St. Louis because my flight home was cancelled, and this is how St. Louis treated me. There is no reason to be rude. We all have bad days, but your job as a bartender is to be courtesy. I should not have to walk on egg shells to get a glass of wine, and I should not be the one apologetic when my order is 100% wrong. I normally love dining out in St. Louis, not tonight.

Was not satisfied with the service it took them over 40 minutes to service 5 drinks. Extremely pricy and portion size was very small for the price. We ordered a jambalaya for $24 and the food was not even one forth the plate

Arrived at 7:30 for a reservation that was not on file. We were seated quickly regardless. But it took until 9:25 for our dinners (for 7) to come out. Two tables that came in after us ate before we did. Management was unapologetic and flippant about the wait. Nice beer and wine selection. But our steaks were not the cuts that the menu listed. Disappointing. This restaurant was recommended by a local. We will not be back.
