Needed saddle posts swapped, and an Alinker rear wheel inner tube swapped. Lacking the tools and strength to do it myself, I went here on my cousin's recommendation. Not only were they able to do it immediately, it only cost $20 and about 10 minutes of labor. They even ensured the rear tire was properly inflated before I left.Excellent service, plus they have shop dogs!

I called Big Shark after my daughter had a very specific new bike request from Santa. I asked if they have what she is looking for and was told they have a few options available. I said I'd be in that afternoon. When I came in, Dave directed me to the back where they were assembling a bike specifically for my daughter! It was exactly what she asked for. I thought I was going to spend all day driving around looking for what she wanted, but I found it at my first stop. I was so impressed with the employees taking such initiative when I hadn't even confirmed I'd be making a purchase. I thought this was wonderful customer service and I will return to Big Shark for any future bike needs :)

The best bike shop you can find! Their service is fantastic, the technicians are absolutely great and the selection of bikes, accessories, shoes and high-end equipment is excellent! Bought my Cannondale there 5 years ago and keep going back for all other stuff. Love Big Shark!

Another great experience at Big Shark. I took my 15 year old single speed mountain bike in with a flat. I don't ride the bike all that much so I figured there might be some age issues with the tires, the brakes, and who know what else I've been deferring. I was prepared to replace the tires and brakes and whatever else. Nope. The tech told me the tires and brakes were fine and the bike was in good shape other than a crank set (?) that needed to be tightened. He replaced the tube, tightened the crank set, and installed a new and much more comfortable saddle, and I still left spending about 60% of what I figured I would. In the short time it took the tech to work on my bike, a sales associate helped me look at a single speed road bike. He was super helpful and patient, and not at all pushy. But what I appreciate the most is this: For a shop that sells bikes from the cheapest decent bikes you can buy up to those in the $10,000+ range, and is staffed by real biking enthusiasts, I'm never made to feel 'lesser' because I'm not a huge bike enthusiast, am looking at bikes in the lower ranges, and really don't know that much about the products. Big Shark is staffed by experts who are also judgment-free. Well done.

RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Update, we got reimbursed for the repairs.Long and extensive review incoming- with a rant!We contacted Big Shark in September 2022 to see if they had a tandem that would work for RAGBRAI (500-mile bicycle ride across Iowa over 7 days). We booked a bike (a KHS tandem Cross) in November from 21/7-28/7-23.We contacted the manager at Big Shark Big Bend, Kayce Peters at the end of May to make some arrangements for transportation of the bike to/ from the hotel in St. Louis and also ask about modifications that could be made to the bike before such a long bike ride. It was only possible to rent the bike for 7 days online, so we asked if they could add two extra days at a great price and they did that for free- so that was nice. We made arrangements to come to the store on Thursday July 20th to look at the bike and get help with adjustments. We arrived in St. Louis (traveling from Norway) on Wednesday and made our way to the Big Shark Big Bend store on Thursday as previously agreed upon. We got there only to find out the people working at the store knew nothing about the tandem booking and the bike stored in a corner of the shop, dusty and lodged behind several other bikes. They got the bike out, we looked it over, adjusted the seats and made some comments about the rear wheel and expected them to fully service the bike before we got it the next day. We wanted to confirm the delivery of the bike to our hotel the next day and again they knew nothing about it. I showed them my email communication with Kayce Peters and they called him and he said he knew nothing about it…They asked him to check his emails and called back, and he did remember at that time. Kevin from Big Shark contacted us about the delivery of the bike and communication with him was good. We received the bike at the hotel and found that it was still dusty. We left for Iowa on Saturday morning and RAGBRAI started on Sunday. We noticed quite quickly that there were issues with the shifting, it “jumped” two gears, sometimes not responding and then all of a sudden shifting- so it was clearly not serviced before we got it. At the end of the day we broke a spoke in our front wheel. We took the bike to a bike shop and they did a quick, much-needed service on the bike and replaced the broken spoke. The next two days we had three more broken spokes that we got fixed, but a lot of people told us that once they start to break, it will just continue. For that reason we reached out to Kayce Peters on Tuesday afternoon/ evening in hopes that he would come up with a solution or some advice- we never got a reply back! The next morning we went to a pop up bike shop and they actually had a new front rim that we gladly bought in hopes that it would fix our problems- all in all we spent an extra $272 on repairs. We arrived back in St. Louis on Saturday. As mentioned earlier we had made arrangements and paid for them to pick the bike up from the same hotel. Nobody from Big Shark had contacted us to arrange for the pick up so we contacted Kayce and Kevin Saturday evening in hopes of a reply. Sunday morning and still no reply, we desperately reached out to the owner Michael Weiss, to see if he could help us. We got a reply from Kevin just as we were checking out of the hotel.Monday afternoon I got a reply back from the owner, that Kayce would reach out to us. Later that day we were reimbursed haft the rental price, $131. He finally got in touch on Tuesday morning to let us know they had partly refunded us. I replied that was not good enough as we had paid over double that it repairs and we should get the full rental price or what we had paid in repairs. We finally got refunded our full rental price. There was no apology, no explanation for the lack of communication- NOTHING!! How somebody can “manage” a bike shop like that and still have a job, I have no idea. Maybe the owner, Michael Weiss, that did not apologize either, can explain…? It was so unprofessional, nothing was prepared or arrangements made, no communication- DO NOT RENT HERE!

Amazing service. I popped my inner tube somehow and my gears were messed up so I took it back to them and they changed it right there and then free of charge. They are also great in helping select bikes based on your needs.

Rented a tandem bike for use at Ragbrai. When we came to the shop to look at the bike the people working there didn't have any knowledge of it or that they were transporting it to our hotelThe bike was not serviced before we got it. The gears were slipping and it was still dirty after having been stored in a corner for a long time. The front wheel had 4 broken spokes during 3 days on Ragbrai So we had to buy a new rim for it. We have tried to get in contact with the store manager with no luck. Hopefully they will contact us to reimburse us for our expenses. Disappointing service and very unprofessional by a store manager!!

Bought a Rad bike on a worker's recommendation (direct online, but they are an "Authorized Service Partner" and assemble them in store). When I have problems with the bike they tell me they are not a service center, they just assemble them, and tell me I should have bought a different bike. I ask for options and why they are listed as a service center and they hang up on me. Better options are out there.

I went in to have my brakes adjusted. The service provider was polite and friendly. They completed the work while I waited. I was very impressed with the shop, the service, and the team.

I live out of town and had a flat tire. I called them, and they said just bring the bike in, and they fix the tire immediately and checked out the rest of the bike, which was so great. I guess the best thing was that they recommended that I ride to Forest Park and give me directions that would make the most sense for someone on a bike. Forest Park which one of the most beautiful Parks I have seen! Had such a great day in St. Louis, and it all started at his bike store.
