Bought an 02 envoy many years ago there, and it's still going strong today. People need to remember you are buying a used car if you don't know anything about cars take someone who does.

Lipstick on a pig cars. If you're on your last option and have no other options to buy a car. Still do not choose this place. I would rather walk. This guys attitude is pure trash. Is less than zero an option to choose? No stars.

I have problems with a car purchased from that dealer a month ago. I went yesterday and the man didn't even let me enter the office. He is not responsible, I do not recommend him at all, he treats customers badly. Do not come close to see those vehicles. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Why has this company not worked w/my sister & her transmission went out not even after having car for 2 wks? I c/h the timeframe wrong, whatever it was it was way too short. Not only is that dishonest, disappointing & unprofessional, its unacceptable. My sister works hard just like lots of other people that are done wrong on a daily. The car business is a business & to stay in business, this company should want to keep business coming. We all just want what we bought to work, not breakdown. No, its not brand new yet, my sister was trying to give the neighborhood dealer a chance. SMH thinking how many more people have been wronged. Just remember word travels fast & just like this company wants to provide for their family, so does my sister. She s/n have to get another car after just getting one from your company used or not.

I’d advise anyone who may be looking to buy a car or have maintenance done on it, not to do business with Bates Motors. They are a scam and they take advantage of ordinary hard working citizens. As a result of their negligence, I’m rating them as a 1 only because I couldn’t rate them any lower.

This dealership sells cars that they know are worthless and are unwilling to work with their customers to reach a reasonable resolution. Once you roll of the lot, they will not take any responsibility for the car they sold you and the customer is on the hook for the cost of the car and all needed repairs. Worthless cars and nonexistent customer service!

So of course every dealership, especially smaller ones, you have to be careful about, but you can get lucky; just not here. As far as the cars in the lot, most of them are over 230,000 miles, have something extremely wrong with it, are mainly falling apart inside and out, and i’m completely sure the mechanics here wipe the computers of the car so no lights show up for the next couple of days. besides the fact of the cars are not reliable, nice, and will cause you trouble, immediately i could tell something was wrong. The dealers there could not maintain eye contact at all, which is ok because most people can’t, not only could they not keep eye contact they continuously gave an attitude the whole time. when asking about a car i was mansplained how to look at a car (when i already have knowledge of cars) and i felt extremely uncomfortable the whole time, slightly embarrassed to even be a woman there. finally, when we were asked when our timespan of buying a car is, we said the next few days to weeks. immediately he said “we sell about 4-5” cars every day (not true because we live in the area some cars have been there for up to 5 months now) he then continued to ask if we had the money and became uninterested in helping us when we said we’d have money within the next few days. We also brought up how my family works on cars and the dealer said “well i’m sure they know more than me and you put together” then continued to walk away from us and not say another word. i won’t tell you to stay away from here as we have found cars that are reliable from here many many years ago, however, please be careful. within the matter of only a few years we have checked their cars multiple times and they only sell junk and they will use you for your money and your money only. these people do not care about you, any car your interested in, and they will try to sell you a car that isn’t worth even having a price on it. Personally if your looking at a car i would recommend going to a Ford pre-owned dealership, or some higher up used car dealership as they won’t disrespect you and can be far more trusted.

i wish i could give this place a 0 star!!! The disrespect here is crazy. I went in for a blue Chevy Cobalt. Almost immediately I could tell he was disrespectful. I asked about the car and the first thing he tells me is “you should always ask about the miles.” I definitely know more about cars than he does clearly. Maybe he should get some new pants that actually fit him and then talk. (NOT ONES THAT LOOK LIKE HES FLOODING.)DO NOT GO HERE!!!

WARNING!!!!!!! BE AWARE.....I want to warn anyone before they spend their hard earned money. Within a week I started having problems with the car I bought from Bates Street Motor. Took it to my mechanic, he said I needed a whole transmission. Tried to talk to owner at Bates since it was less than two weeks. The owner told me it doesn't matter if it's less than 30 min or 30 days sales are "As Is" they suggested a transmission flush since oil was "Real Dirty" another lie. So now I'm out of $3400 ($400 of additional repairs) not including the cost of a transmission that will cost me another couple of thousands of dollars

so i bought a 2005 chevy malibu here a couple years ago… there was a slight rattle when going over bumps(the guy pretended he couldn’t hear it during the test drive), which i could deal with given the price, that’s not my issue. less than 3 days after i make my (finalized) purchase my check engine light came on. you can clear out some codes and they’ll stay gone for a certain amount of driving until the computer picks it up again. so basically that’s what they obviously did. if you get a car here, get a warranty
