I called ahead to see if they had a rare bottle of bourbon that I have been searching for. I was excited when they told me they had it. Took an hour round trip drive to the store to purchase the bourbon. When I got there, they had the bourbon, but told me I had to spend an additional $150 before they would let me buy it, which they hadn't mentioned on the phone. I ended up leaving without the bottle.It's not uncommon for liquor stores to run business like this, where you have to spend a certain amount in order to buy a rare bottle; I just wish they had told me before I drove all that ways. If you are looking for something rare, look elsewhere, or at the very least verify they won't attempt swindle you into buying other products once you're there. I won't be back

A1 Berkeley is my go to store. They're in my neighborhood, close to work and home, but it's their selection and prices that keep me coming back. From a variety of red and white wines to many types of whiskeys and beer, to saki and plum wine, they have it all. My tastes are diverse and they satisfy them. The staff is helpful, professional and polite as well. And again their prices beat most other stores in the city.
