Extremely friendly and welcoming. I moved from Washington state and the team here made it easy to start training at a new facility!

My 5yo loves doing BJJ! We are not very long into this, but it's the one activity that he refuses to miss. Deryck has been an excellent coach, and is excellent with the little ones! He keeps the atmosphere light for the kids, but also does great at teaching them discipline when they start to lose focus. I highly recommend letting your kids at least try BJJ out to see if they like it. It's a great sport that's often overlooked by basketball, football, soccer.

Phenomenal place to learn and grow in martial arts. The atmosphere is fun and exciting yet professional and safe. Classes are available to children and adults at every skill level. Prices are affordable.

Visiting family in St. Joseph for a few weeks, went in to see about getting some work in during my time back home. The guy running the place 'Derrick' was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Told me I'm not a fighter because I don't have any gear with me (I live out of state and my gear is back home). When I asked if he had any extra gear lying around OR if he had gear for sale that I could purchase he became extremely hostile and let his ego get involved. He told me to leave and when I apologized and told him I meant no disrespect he proceeded to try and get one of his fighters to fight me. Not in a friendly workout sense but in a "hey f*** this guy up" sense. Absolutely unacceptable from someone who is supposed to be a coach and leave their ego at the door. I've been to a lot of different gyms and this guy is the poster-child of how not to behave. All I was looking for was a workout with some light sparring and this guy chose to harass me via a strange pissing-contest of masculinity in which he was the only participant. Truly embarrassing.

I have been training for just under a year and half at this gym and love it! Whether you are looking to improve your self defense capabilities, or just get in better physical shape you will not be disappointed here. The staff and teammates are amazing and have become a second family to me. My 12 year old son now trains here as well and loves it! If you are looking to challenge yourself, come check us out!

Best martial arts school in the KC area! Wether you’re looking to lose weight, get in shape, learn self defense, or interested in training/competing this is the place to do it! The Coaches are awesome, they treat everyone equally and will push you to do your best but will never make you do something you’re uncomfortable with doing. If you want to become a better you don’t look any further because this is it!
