5 Stars for selling me an unroadworthy ‘classic’. I made the huge mistake of believing what they told me…. Foolish as I’m a collector/enthusiast and should know better. When the car got to the UK and was tested it didn’t pass the list is extensive… Do Not buy from these guys without a full independent inspection…. Their description does NOT match reality. They also get you to sign away any come back…. That should have been the eye opener, but I chose to believe them…. fool me once..

make sure you get a VERY thorough Pre Purchase Inspection. Descriptions of cars are not accurate or honest.

They are very responsive and go out of their way to answer questions and take pictures. 1 star since they are completely willing to mis represent their cars and ghost you when you call them out on it. They are known in the area for mis representing cars they buy from auctions. I repeatedly asked about modifications and any background information, they said they had none, but when I dug up extensive modification history and spoke to the previous owner who told me the car has serious engine issues, this dealer told me "this is all true", meaning they knew about the vehicle history and lied when I asked. Go anywhere else these people are the bottom of the barrel.

Just purchased a 1964 Porsche 356C from Schmitt and am completely pleased with the transaction. My salesman, John Sherman gave me exquisite service. Step by step, he promptly answered my many questions and gave complete follow through to delivery. Many thanks to the team to include Maxine for transaction and delivery service. I've owned 5 Carreras but this is my first 356 and this car is a gem. Check out Schmitt.com for an amazing collection of classic cars.

Typical classic car dealer. Fluffed up pictures and description. You need to go inspect the the car in person. These people are pros at buying certain types of cars they know will sell from auction outlets, like Mecum. They then flip them for an approximately 50% profit. A quick shine and new tires and suddenly it's an investment piece. Be a smart shopper. With the internet, no need to hand all your hard earned money to a middle man...

I had smooth, pain free sales process but after the sale communication dropped off and it took two & a half weeks to receive the car. I had to follow up with no word on a delivery date or that I had to pay a transport fee until the day the car actually arrived at my doorstep. On a $120k car I would have expected a bit more high end service with much better communication. I hope they do better next time.

I'll start by saying Tim was great to deal with and seemed like a straight up honest guy. He went above and beyond to take some extra pictures and video of a car I was ready to buy/trade for. The crappy part came after we had already hashed out a deal and I had even signed a purchase order agreement. They were going to give me 205k for my trade and the car I was wanting was listed at 190k. I still gave them a $2k good faith deposit on Friday to hold the car until a PPI was done on Tuesday but they sold the car out from under me anyways on Monday after I told them I wouldn't buy it without the PPI which I was also paying for . They sold it to someone willing to buy without a PPI who had come into the dealership after I gave them the deposit. I told them if they were truly not worried about something coming up on the PPI then they should have nothing to worry about, it was a done deal. We had a deal and they couldn't just wait one more day and actually follow through with it. Money over morals I suppose. I'd recommend Tim but definitely not this dealership.

As a very amateur classic car collector, when I discovered the rare, elegant 1979 Buick Regal online, I thought “yeah, this is an awesome car, but when compared to the high-end imports they also are showcasing—I’m small potatoes.”I couldn’t have been more wrong. This dealership has classic car inventory both import and American for all budgets, styles, and tastes. I prefer muscle cars/coupes from the early/late 70s and early/mid 80s. They had exactly what I was looking for.Dealt the sales manager John Sherman and the transaction was smooth and easy. A little wheeling and dealing, an independent inspection, they fixed what little needed repair no questions asked—and the car arrived a day or two after I paid the balance.I cannot recommend Daniel Schmitt dealership enough. John Sherman answered every question (and I had tons!), made every accommodation, showed patience and quick responsiveness, and simply got the job done in a professional and courteous manner. He’s the real deal.Keep me in your Rolodex for that Monte Carlo of my dreams down the road, John. Let’s do this again.Five-star car buying experience for me.Tim M.
