Was told I had to take their insurance or they wouldn’t rent to me. I have full coverage insurance and had proof. I rented a premium car that the seats didn’t work, the radio didn’t work , had tons of dents and scratches, interior trim pieces missing. The insurance cost me more than the rental. I was told someone would be in contact about my within 72 hours. That was a week ago.

My wife and I as we arrived at Springfield/Branson airport departing we met Jeff at the counter at Hertz Jeff saw to our needs in such a expeditious manner I had left my jacket in the car we returned he saw to it my jacket returned to me we were able to catch our flight I really appreciate the efforts of Jeff and Hertz kind professional and courteous I will be coming back Thank you Hertz your the best.

I reserved a truck 4months in advance. I very clearly confirmed that I would be using a debit card to pay for the truck when I arrived. The reservation person said no problem. I waited 3.5 hours after my flight landed to be able to pick up my rental, to be rudely told that I can not rent a truck with a debit card, even though reservations told me it was okay! Thankfully I had my credit card(emergency use only) with me, but I had to pay an additional $10 a day to have my spouse as a driver because his name was not on my card. That was almost an additional $100 to the rental. Customer service at the counter was rude, I know it was early morning, but hey customer service!. The truck was not in the correct location in the garage, and I was told " oh that happens a lot" . When I returned the truck I offended the person because I did a full photos of the interior and exterior of the truck. The truck itself had no issues, not sure I would use them again.

Terrible customer service from Lily in Orlando. She is a very rude and snappy agent. She yelled at my boyfriend after she tried to double charge him, although, all he said was, "you're charging me twice?" Even if you have a reservation, you must wait in line for over an hour! Your credit card MUST have a chip. If it doesn't, you cannot use it. If you want to use your debit card, the deposit is suddenly $500 instead of $200. And no one else can use their credit card, because the reservation isn't under their name. Next time we will use a different company, and not Dollar rentals, because it is the same company. 3/10 do not recommend.

I rented a mid size car three weeks in advance to take my children on a spring break vacation also for my daughters 6th birthday. I waited 30 minutes in line and another 30 minutes for an available midsize car unless I wanted to upgrade to a mustang which I kindly declined and said I’ll have three children, two in car seats. I get called to the counter told my car is available. Sent me on my way. The guy didn’t place my rental agreement in the thrifty envelope, also didn’t relay the message that the vehicle I’m getting is a compact with NO ROOM IN THE BACKSEAT AND NO TRUNK SPACE FOR LUGGAGE. I called the customer service line to be told how unprofessional and unacceptable the counter is. The guy truly sounded like he was going to help me but said I have to get back in line so he can speak to them at the counter on my phone. I kindly said the wait is 30+minutes and I have reservations I will be late for, and I have to reschedule or figure out how to get my kids and luggage to our destination or I’ll be out 250 dollars as you can’t cancel your tickets at sight and sound theater. He reassured that when the car is returned I will be compensated and notes are made on the account. I call again on Wednesday and the lady puts me on hold and the line disconnects. I’m at the counter trying to explain the situation and instead of showing empathy and understanding that because of poor communication and making sure customers have their vehicle he instead was rude. Said nothing he can do about it. I let him know how this ruined my daughters bday plans and he said well that’s what they had available. (Thrifty counter was closed and Hertz had to handle the return. ). I’m now on hold again with customer service trying to get help and was told a supervisor was being contacted that she will be on the line but placing me on hold. I’m 31 minutes in and counting sitting on hold and not sure if thrifty is wanting to be scandalous and hoping I hang up or what. I took pictures of my rental I was given and can provide verification that I had 0 room in a COMPACT ecosport. Rather thn a midsize car. Steer clear and save your money and sanity by going to a rental place that cares about their customers.UPDATE: 45 minutes into hold and the call automatically disconnected. Back on the phone.

Dropped off the car and got a call from an older guy " I broke the left headlight". I recorded the exterior and interior of the car when I picked up the car, and I told the employee too. What a fraudulent airport company. Sent the video to them and never heard back. Be careful renting here

The worst car rental experience ever. We rented a car to have reliable transportation to my sister's funeral. The gas gauge didn't work. We had a blow out and couldn't get help from Thrifty because it was unsafe for them to help us on the shoulder of the road. We had to change to the donut tire ourselves and then once off the road, they told us to drive almost 500 miles on the donut to our destination. They made a really bad day even worse.

Car was not the size (i.e.) class I booked. Car had large nail in tire I found out about the next morning. Thrifty has not reimbursed me for fixing the faulty car they delivered.

I've been renting here quite frequently since January. Their cars are never super spotless or anything, but the employees have been ok. Our house is off a dirt road, so the car is never brought back super clean. It will have normal dirt on the floor boards, but nothing insane. This has never been an issue. Today I returned a rental car I got Saturday. I had got a little Chevy spark for the "mystery vehicle". The car was in poor condition on the outside & inside wasn't clean when we picked it up. I ignored this given we're going off a dirt road. I get an updated agreement and they charged me $75 for cleaning on top of the $400 for the 5 day car rental of a piece of junk car! Don't rent from these shady people, they need to wash the car when it's returned anyway. The car was returned to without any trash left in it, or any new damage. I will be disputing the charge.

Buyer Beware !! If your not a seasoned traveler Thrifty will take advantage of you! (Maybe even if your not a seasoned traveler)After you wait in line for over an hour and 1/2 and you finally get to the counter they will add charges that you are not aware of! Like Damage Waiver! My rental went from being $470.40 to $723.99How does that happen? I have an idea! I’m a retired Law enforcement officer and I’ve seen things like this before. It’s when a criminal steals from you!So no matter how long you stood in that long line, sweating, hurting from being on your feet so long!CHECK YOUR TICKET BEFORE YOU LEAVE THAT COUNTER! THEY WILL ADD STUFF WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE!

We picked up our rental on a Thursday. We headed immediately to Florida.1rst problem when we arrived at hotel was drivers door would not lock with remote and had to be manually locked unlocked. No biggie but the other problem is the cruise control does not operate properly and is dangerous. If you touch the resume button it engages and continues to increase speed until you manually shut it off. Dealt with this through the trip. Finally upon returning vehicle there was a bit of a checkout line and wanted to discuss mechanical defects. She said just drop it off and will call. They called and left message that dirty so “we’re throwing on 75 for cleaning” when I picked up the car he said just get trash out on return, it was. It needed to be vacuumed and wiped down which should be standard between rentals. Now try to contact them. Unavailable and not going all the way back.
