I loved Menards. I purchased an older home and have spent an ungodly amount of money there. Then ……. I found out what management was like. Warning ….buying stain at this location is hazardous to your health. I purchased a can of stain for my fence. I took it home used it. Tested the color and used the gallon. Went back to get two more cans. The gal who did it did not know how to make more. She had not put a label on the can. Al’s she used the wrong nase to create it. She used chestnut rather than a redwood. As they endeavored to match the stain, I went home and got a board off the fence and took it in for the match. Long story short and four trips later, I called management and talked to Cory. I asked what they were going to do to make this right. Nothing. As an amputee (which I told him), I told him it was hard enough to do it once. I wasn’t even offered a gallon of stain for the extra ones I had to buy. I ended up using 5 gallons of stain rather than 3. I couldn’t spray because the replacement was too light. I brushed on 3 coats to make it match the first can. It cost me a minimum of close to $100 more so far and the time involved has quadrupled. I’m still not done. They made the mistake. They caused the problem. Yet, I was treated as though I was the issue. The manager (Cory) had an uncaring, bite me attitude. I don’t know why I expected them to do something. With only 2 motorized wheelchairs in that store (the norm nationwide), they show their obvious attitude of not caring about their customers or handicapped clientele. So, if you are elderly, go to Home Depot. If you are an individual that has to have a motorized wheelchair, forget this store and go to Home Depot. If you are someone who cares about people and find yourself disgusted about this attitude, go to Home Depot. (I stopped going to Lowe’s because there are no checkouts at the exit area. They were short on cashiers. Looks like they all fled because there is no place for their return. Try setting in a wheelchair and check out boards. I was told I could go to the back of the store and they would checkout there. That’s what I want to do… go to the back of the store from the front. Check out. Then roll all the way back to the front of the store to go to the car … being stopped to make sure the items have been paid for by the person in the rear of the store). Idiocy wears me out. It did before I lost my leg. Now, it makes me want to hold my head and scream. I lost a leg …. Yes I did from a doctor surgery infection …. Yet I feel fortunate….. they lost their minds and heart. Obviously I don’t give them a star at all … much less five. I can’t change it but then they don’t have negative stars and they don’t deserve one.

Refused to fill a propane tank with a brand new valve on it. They are just trying to scam people into buying new tanks. Homedepot it is!

This Menards was amazing, except for their service in the lumber pick-up area! We pulled around to the back area and there was no-one to tell us where the material we purchased was or to help us. Finally we found someone to help us and they did a good job. They absolutely need more people back there!
The store itself was huge, well stocked and very clean. They had one of the biggest lighting sections we have seen at any Menards. We want to give a big shout out to Tom in building materials for all of his help with our purchase and for tracking down the quantity of material we needed! Great job!
We will definitely be shopping here more often!

Menards staff are not helpful. They don’t have the industrial experience that Home Depot or Lowe’s workers have to help you solve a home improvement problem. If you don’t exactly know what you want, they will not be able to brainstorm ideas with you. They are as good as a product search on their website.

Super bummed the folks at mernards are always awesome! I bought a 4 stroke edger, ran 1 tank of fuel through it and it started smoking. Fuel in the oil. Took it back the same day I purchased and they refused to refund or exchange. Lady who checked out me raved about the 2yr warranty and in store exchange they offer. GM not so much. He tells me because it’s a 4cycle I have to take it to a repair shop. But if it was a 2 cycle I could return it….. so I could have purchased a 2cycle, ran it lean (operater error) blew it up and retuned it…. That seems backwards!

Just unpacked our new washer and it looks as if it was just thrown around. Yeah we can go back up and get another one, but hour up there and a hour back then to have to do it again just really sucks

Incompetent employees and management (obviously not all employees of course). They lost 2 customers today. They are unable to place accurate information either online or in the physical store.
Jay is a terrible example of a manager.

The store is great but when your in the shopping and actually paying for all my stuff well I get to the check out and I have an employee ask me where I put the stylist pens I had. Witch I kindly took them to where they was put down because I decided I didn't need them. It was so embarrassing because she said this in front of every one at the front of the store just to be proven wrong. I ain't no theif and if they thought I was you think they would of watched me a little more they would of seen me put the pens down. Instead of humiliating an innocent person in front of alot of people. Let's just say I won't be going or recommending the store in Springfield Missouri at all ....

Shout out to Lucas in Lumber area for being so helpful today at the Springfield East store in Springfield, Mo. Businesses need more people like Lucas. It was almost 90 degrees today and he was a very pleasant and helpful young man. He should be acknowledged for his efforts.

Huge store with a diverse selection of everything!
I don't always think to come here for purchases, but I should! Today I ditched Walmart as a destination and stopped into Menards.
I was instantly surrounded by some really great deals on things that I forgot that I had needed! I left with a few items when all I meant to get was an eraser.. but I still got that too.
Always recommend this store from dish soap, to ceiling fans, to HDMI coupling dongles.. they probably have that other thing you want too.
