Why can't I give Chambers 0 stars? The WORST customer service I have ever encountered. Used to go there weekly when I flipped houses in the area and spent thousands of dollars. I tolerated their terrible, rude oblivious staff for over a year because the store was only a block from the home I was working on and they had a wide variety of odds and ends for cheap prices. It was all junk that wasn't worth having it was free I soon learned, but I never so much as complained. Until one day - the last day - I was shopping and stopped there because I was in a hurry, didn't take in my purse, just grabbed a shopping basket and had summer clothes on, shorts wo pockets and a tank top and my wallet was in the basket. I'd already taken about $350 worth of merchandise to the checkout and left it there while I back for a couple things I forgot. Had a pack of labels in my hand that were priced at $1, and i think some tacks, pens etc under $2 office supplies in the basket - was absently slapping the labels against my hand while trying to remember what else I might need when the OWNER came out and grabbed them away and told me to get put the basket down and get out. I was stunned and asked what she was talking about she snarled at me that she'd seen me stealing the entire time I'd been there. I gestured to my attire and the basket and said "There must be a mistake, I don't know what you think I could possibly be hiding or where you think I'm hiding it, but if it makes you feel better to check for stolen merchandise then be my guest". She glared, pointed to the sticker on the labels where a small corner was peeling up and said "see there - you were switching stickers!" so I laughed and replied "for a $1? Go look at the pile of merchandise I took up to pay for at the register and tell me I'm trying to cheat you out of $1!". She ripped the basket off my arm, gestured to a sign and YELLED "See that sign? I own this store and I have the right to refuse service to you so GET OUT!" I reached for my wallet in the basket and thought she was going to hit me when she shoved me away, then saw why and threw my wallet at me and I happily left, totally embarrassed - for her. They've some cheap things, but every single item they have is defective in some way trust me - expired food, missing parts, all just worthless. Being banned from Chambers was the best thing that could've happened because I wouldn't want to use a thing they sell in even the cheapest houses I flip or for my own personal use. can't believe they're still in business, guess it must be the fact they're such good God fearing Christians that keeps the doors open so they can continue to steal from, cheat and slander their customers.

At this time the Springfield store is closed, but the store in Ozark remains open. I had to come back and update my three star review from 2012 with a ONE star review from my most recent visit (November 2017). The store is filled with a bunch of junk like always, but the prices are higher than before. That alone would cause me to rate the store with only 2 stars, but on our visit the three female employees we encountered seemed to think my husband and I were there to rob them blind. They followed us down every single aisle. One woman continually stared me down and another one asked me multiple times if she could get me a basket for my purchases and then she would look at me very weirdly. A woman who was more dressed up stage whispered to the others "I'm going on break, keep an EYE ON THEM" about me and my husband! What? I hadn't even picked up any of their junk because I didn't want or need any broken Target dollar aisle items from 4 years ago or discontinued protein snacks. It was crazy to me. I realize I am probably showing my privilege as a nearing middle aged, middle class white lady here - but I have not been followed around like that in any store since I was 13 or 14 with a nose ring and torn punk t-shirt. We're never stepping foot back in this clown show!

This place is trash. The items in the store are of the lowest quality I have ever seen. All they care about is money and not great customer service. They are fake "Christians". The manager was very rude and was also wearing a stupid hat.

IDK, but the person who reviewed this place before sounds like a bitter ex-employee lol
