Wonderful experience. My kids and their cousins like pretending that they were part of the fort. The museum was impressive with lots of information for it being smaller.The lookout looks like it needed some trimming. You couldn't really see the river very well. That's the only thing I really saw that could be improved.

Excellent historic site with plenty of things to see and learn. The museum is far superior to what was on hand 20 years ago. There were plenty of volunteers during the weekend event. Entry fees are reasonable. Make sure you stop by for a great time.

Wonderful time with the family. So much great living history. The living history actors were very knowledgeable and nice. The museum was great!

Built in 1808, under the direction of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition, Fort Osage served a dual roles as both a military garrison and a trade center.
Today, authentically attired historical interpreters take visitors on a journey through Fort Osage’s past. Visitors will enjoy breathtaking views of the reconstructed historic site that overlooks the Missouri River as they learn about the daily life of military, civilian and Native American populations at Fort Osage and explore museum exhibits at the Fort Osage Education Center.
