After a few months of living in St James I have shopped here many times, today was the last. 4 out of my last 5 visits I was overcharged. Each time, the cashier acting like it was an inconvenience to corre t the price. Today, even the customer behind me agreed it happens often and they never fix the price of the item. Today I had one single item, was $11, advertised for $11, price right there by the front by the cashier, rand up for $13. After waiting forever for it to be corrected, I watched the guy bagging groceries pick his nose, wipe it on his pants, and looked right at me as he bagged someone's food with the same hand. Didn't miss a beat. I asked him if he was comfortable touching people's food after what he just did, he just stared at me dumbfounded, and continued bagging.. Then when my cashier asked me for the 4th time what the price was supposed to be (after another person already confirmed the price) I gave up, told them to keep the item, and left.. The fact that their prices are outrageous, is one thing, I paid it due to the location and convenience. But from now on, I will drive past Country Mart on a daily basis without ever stopping there again. Honorable mention to the two other employees making tic too videos in the aisle as I walked by, at least you weren't picking your nose and failing to charge people the correct amount. Rip off, I would avoid this dump. I mean, how do you have a 4.1 rating as a grocery store? Seriously, just put competitive priced stuff on a shelf. And check people out. But 1 in 5 people leave there unsatisfied? It's not fast food where 4/5 is acceptable. Go talk to 5 current shoppers, one will have an issue, and eventually those issues drive people away when they do not get addressed. Read the reviews, see the same pattern?? Debit swipe machines always have a paper sign taped to them saying sorry no cash back today, or ever. Fix it?? The 5 for $25 deals save almost nothing compared to other stores who offer it. I mean sometimes you include items selling in the store for $5 already. Who prices this stuff? I bet your waste is through the roof with stuff expiring because you can't sell due to being overpriced, especially meats. I guess ownership is satisfied with profits because they have done nothing to be more competitive, which hurts the local shoppers. I know many who drive to Rolla over this. So many. You spend more time and $ posting hundreds of "on sale" "save .06 on a $4 item on every other product and shelf than they would if they just priced things more competitive to begin with, not to mention more shoppers in general. Silly management..Stop wasting hours walking down aisles putting a small piece of paper on nearly every item saying "save 3 cents?", nobody cares if they know it's .75 higher than everywhere else to begin with. Besides, it creates more issues at the register with stuff not ringing up correctly. Is that your angle, make "sale prices" so small, that people dont catch it, and pay full price when they check out? Nonsense, do you really think people are stupid and don't know the tactic. Waste of time, money, energy. On second thought... Maybe I will come back, shop as normal, and really pay attention to getting screwed at the checkout, AGAIN, but make a bigger deal of it calling you out on a bigger scale rather than just leaving again. I'll bag my own groceries for sure. Might make for some good social media video and newspaper garb, spread the word on unethical business practices. Get your $#!t together and stop screwing what few loyal customers you have left. See ya soon.

Cute country store with good prices. Most small grocery stores can't compete with prices of the huge chains which inevitably results in loss of business. But this stores prices are great! I'd rather spend my $ at a smaller store or chain then spend it at huge places such as Walmart. Keep the money in the small towns as much as possible.

Prices are steep, make sure to look at dates on the products, many expired products. I drive to Rolla to go to Aldi.

Went in today for taco salads . These things were a joke. They were a third of the size they were a month ago . Told guy behind counter this isn’t right and he said this is the way they should have been make and it’s not his fault others were making it wrong . Also told him price was wrong it should be $6.99 not $99.99 . Told him we won’t be back, if this is way you treat your customers . Go to Rich’s burger

I asked for help. The first man I asked was no help. The second, a teen, was fantastic. He actually helped me find what I needed.
