I was HORRIFIED when I went to retrieve my items at east side storage. Water damage is a FACT. I went to retrieve my items after them being stored there for 5 years. Yesterday during the rain, water seeped into my unit and I could tell it was NOT the first time. Some of the boxes were damaged from years of previous water damage. It wasn’t horrible but water DEFINITELY seeped into my unit. Some units were half open. I highly doubt the buildings are up to code. There is barely room to turn your U-Haul around— and we only had a 5x10 trailer attachment. The facility is HORRENDOUS, dingy and considering the moisture, there is a possibility of black mold. If you care about your items and want them SAFE, do not store your items here. Location is easy to break into- one of my two units was robbed and it took the previous owners over a WEEK to figure it out and contact me. I hope the new owner cleans the place up and customers can come confidently store their goods.

UPDATE: I was refunded my deposit, plus that months storage. Repairs were made to the unit. Previous review: You want your stuff ruined from theweather elements, this is the place to rent! Stayed here less than a month, and all my stuff is wet and ruined. Their excuse was, well, we've had a lot of rain lately. You're better off putting it in your back yard, and throwing a tarp over it!

We have owned st James east side storage for 2 yrs we have had no water damages reported to us since we took over. We have also added security cameras and lighting. Also the pictures in Dave franks post on my business clearly are not representative of my buildings we have metal structure, no wood construction. Mr. Franks should remove his review and I’ve reported him.

Helped a friend, who had a house fire, move stuff . The door on the storage unit wasn't working and didn't roll up like it should. I still have bumps on my head. So will I give it 3 stars?I think knot!

There are no security cameras, gates, guards or other theft preventive measures, multiple units including mine broken into with management not having a clue until notified. Person at management company is really nice though.
