The man who helped us was very knowledgeable and gave us a great price for our gold, especially compared to other 'buy gold' shops in the area. Overall an excellent experience

The family here is always kind and helpful. I have bought and sold silver here several times and I’ve had a great experience every time!

Yes, I understand it's by appoitment but don't let that discourage you from checking this place out. The old mansion is awesome. The shops never end on this street in old St.Charles. If you have a collection of anything, you can find it in the mansion store. The guy is familiar with everything. He is very factual and to the point . He buys, sells and you can recycle your prescious metals at good rates here too. If you go there have plenty of time to get lost looking around his little place. To sum it up, it's cool!

These are very nice people. This is family owned. If you read any bad reviews, it probably doesn't represent what's usual or customary. I write this because I saw a bad review. I've been to this Coin shop a few times in the past 5 years, and while they may not have the answers or the one you want, they've always been cordial. And the building is vintage and in an area that is enjoyable to visit if you can stay for lunch or happy hour at any of several places.

Always straightforward and polite. Never get the run around and always fairly priced whether buying or selling. Always my first choice when selling gold, silver, or any antique!

Called for advice on two coins. Mentioned both coins. Was talked at instead of being treated like a POTENTIAL NEW CUSTOMER. Kept getting interrupted and I was treated like an idiot. I WILL NOT SHOP THERE.

I haven't been to the regular store, but I went to open garage section, since they open that up on Saturdays in nice weather. At first, I was confused about whether it was a store or a garage sale or an antique place, but it's probably a little bit of everything rolled into one. There were items outside on the sidewalk around the garage as well as inside of it. The selection was pretty random - jewelry, small pieces of furniture, decorations (see my photo). I found an almost completely new Harry Potter board game for $5 and a cool piece of costume jewelry (a gold leaf necklace) for a dollar! The employee was friendly. He checked to make sure all the cards and pieces were in the board game before selling it to me. I'd be curious to see the "regular" part of the antique store, which seems to be open only Mon-Fri (correct me if I'm wrong?). Anyway, I would go back again to see if there's anything new and to see if I can find something awesome for cheap!
