Zero stars if I could. I made a service appointment for our Chevy traverse that we purchased from Jim Trenary last November for 730 this morning. I dropped it off at 7:15 for a diagnosis for an engine code light, that was a possible warranty item. When I dropped it off, they gave no indication that they were backlogged or that there would be any issue seeing it today. Around 330 I called in to find the status of the vehicle because I hadn’t heard from anyone. The receptionist said they were busy and they would have somebody called me back and they took my information, including my phone number. Around 5 PM no one had called me back, so I called in again because they close at six, the receptionist said the same thing and tried to take a message, I declined and said I needed to talk to someone (and explained the situation). When someone finally answered they said that people have been trying to reach me multiple times and haven’t been able to get ahold of me. They also said they weren’t able to see my vehicle today.
I’m very confused by this because my confirmation in my email has my correct phone number and I had left my phone number with the the front desk clerk at 3:30. When I came and picked up my vehicle, I asked if there was anything that I did wrong or could do better so that my vehicle would be seen next time I have an appointment. I was told, “ we got hammered”. And “we had 22 carry overs from yesterday”.
This is my first attempt at a service appointment at this location after a bad taste in my mouth from the sales process of purchasing this vehicle. When I bought the vehicle, I found a failed vehicle inspection report in the vehicle and brought it up and they said that there was a passed inspection and would get it to me. I asked for proof of that, but never received it even after following up multiple times over a few weeks. Unfortunately I trusted them. I finally gave up on it and registered the vehicle. It didn’t need the inspection to be registered because of the age of the car. However, the only record in their system was a failed one from the date posted that I had found in the vehicle. After getting the vehicle, inspected by a third-party, I found that the brakes needed replacing. The week after I purchased a vehicle I also had to replace a battery in it, which all out of all honesty I did not talk to Jim Trenary about in replacing because I had just purchased a vehicle and it was a used vehicle with no warranties. I understand that it is not their responsibility after the purchase of the vehicle but with so many other issues going on it really makes me wonder if they care about their vehicles at all that they’re selling. Also selling a vehicle KNOWING that it didn’t pass Missouri road standards. Considering the other reviews that I’ve read on Jim Trenary there’s a consistent picture that they do not care about their customers or the vehicles that they are selling. I have another appointment for another vehicle for later this month that I will be canceling and will no longer go to this dealership for any repairs services or purchasing a vehicle.
**edit** Jim Trenary has my email contact and phone number if they feel like providing the proof inspection. I have asked multiple people at this point and have not provided it. As well as an authority saying the only inspection in the digital system is a failed inspection. If one is provided I will edit this review, but the fact still remains even “if” it was completed it was not recorded like it’s required at may now be fraudulent.

Wish I had never bought a warranty. The service dept. Personnel are some of the most rude, unfriendly people who seem to hate their own existence .

Dropped off my 1.5 year old Chevy Trax with a battery warning light on a Tuesday evening, took 3 days to "diagnose" and replace the battery under warranty. The reply from the service advocate was that "everyone wants their car back." There has to be a better way to get the quick fixes in and out and be more productive. Fixing my car took less than an hour and they had my car majority of the business week.

Had a 10a.m. appointment and after two days and at least 4 phone calls to them, they still had not looked at my car. When I told them I'd be up to pick it up, they told me they were 24-48 hours behind (though mine was longer than that), they were short handed and had trouble getting parts. Those aren't my problem. If they are that backlogged, they should stop making appointments they can't keep. No one can afford to be without their car that long. I will not use them again. As it turned out, I found another company that ran the diagnostics for less than half the price that I was quoted here, and I got my car back fixed the same day.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I scheduled an oil change, inspection & emissions. When I got there to check in I was told their machine wasn't working for inspections but I went ahead & got the oil change...3 1/2 hours it took to do the oil change. During that time the machine was again working. I got the inspection but failed emissions. When I was ready to redo the emissions test I called for an appointment several times but was told the machine wasn't working & they had no idea on when it would be. Called the following week & same thing. Finally was able to get it retested....2 hours later for just the emissions retest & wouldn't you know it but I had to pay for another emissions test since I wasn't able to get in in due to their machine not working. When I questioned this I was told that Troop C was responsible for the machine not working & not Jim Trenary. AVOID this dealer at all costs!

Jim Ternary DOESN'T CARE!!!!! Do NOT patronize Jim Trenary. The salesman we worked with on Saturday afternoon was completely unprofessional, rude, incompetent condescending and clueless. I test drove a used car, made him a reasonable cash offer and he just said "No", snatched the key out of my hand, turned his back on me and walked away. I will NEVER give my business to Jim Trenary and I will tell everyone I know to stay away.

Do not get your car repaired there. After picking up my car, I noticed the dealership stenciled their logo on my car without my permission. Imagine large black "Jim Trenary" letters now on the back of my white car. No one asked if I was ok with providing them with free advertisement. Not only that, the work was done poorly and it's noticeably off-center. The dealership has effectively defaced my vehicle. When I called them, they denied that anyone did it, but it's ON MY CAR. I have tried unsuccessfully to resolve this issue for the last several weeks and no one from the dealership has bothered to respond to my attempts to contact them. I may actually be forced to seek damages through a lawyer now. There are many options in town. Don't use them.
