Staff made me feel uncomfortable while shopping.I buy fasteners from this store whenever I’m in the area on a job. This last time, one of their folks stood right next to me while I was shopping for individual fasteners literally counting as I pulled fasteners out. Didn’t realize that shopping trips here came with a designated buddy to help me count. Just a strange and very off putting experience.

9 months ago, Hackman took my order. They have ordered some things since. Those have not been the right things. They have lied about completing my order. They have not delivered the order. Rinse and repeat. 9 months is a long time to wait for window parts.

I honestly have never had an issue with Hackman. The front end staff is friendly. I recently went there is search for railroad ties and they did not disappoint. The prices can come steep, but their quality is much higher than the box stores.

Contractors AVOID at all cost. By far the worst customer service ive ever encountered. My order was over $10k. The folks at the contractor desk are rude and horrible in pretty much every way. They left multiple things out of my order, ordered the multiple wrong things, etc. Everybody is human and makes mistakes but getting it sorted out and my refunds was beyond a hassle. They pretty much refuse to take anything back even when its their fault and still new in the box. The few things I was able to get them to take back, they wanted to charge me 25% restocking fees even though it was their mistake and error (they even admitted it was)!!! It took me multiple trips, emails, and phone calls to get refunded on the things they left out... On top of all of this and all their mistakes, I never once got a "sorry about that" or anything. All I got was rude attitudes, rolling eyes, and unprofessional comments.... These people clearly do not understand that we are there customers and without us they would not have a job...... The only reason I went here was because my builder recommended based on their prices. Their prices are decent but really not any different then home depot or lowes so no reason to go here given the extra headaches you will get from their staff... I will never go here again and my builder is also fed up with their customer service and will no longer be recommending this place or going there himself... they are losing a lot of potential business, not smart on their part.

A great neighborhood hardware store. It's my go to store for spring flowers and winterizing my home. They offer excellent advice when stuck solving your DIY Projects.

Service at the contractor desk. Too many issues over the past few years to name them all. Here’s just a few. Quoting one price and then just a couple of days later trying to get an extra $600 out of me, wrong materials delivered multiple times, shortages on deliveries, very poor communication, etc…Just spent $10,000 with them, but after today they will not get another penny unless the pink haired female “manager” at the contractors desk would like to call with an apology.

BUYERS BEWARE!!! A few months ago, after waiting almost 6 months for them, our doors were finally delivered. I was crushed to see them both water damaged and physically damaged. To top if off, the doors were not wrapped or protected at all. The Hackmann sales guy came out and looked at the doors. He agreed on the damage, took photos, and said with the swelling they might not slide smoothly. When he got back to us, he told us that they would not replace them. That we had two choices. To either return and re-buy at a higher price (because they cost more now) or they could give us 12% off on the doors to keep the damaged ones. I was flabbergasted! We got a quote to fix the doors and the 12% does not even cover that cost to fix them. So either way, we are going to pay more for a product that arrived damaged. It is not our fault that we waited months for our doors and they arrived both water and physically damaged!! We have been going back and forth for over a months now trying to get this resolved with no compassion or helpfulness from Hackmann. Be VERY careful! This is over $4K worth of doors and months of project delays that they have caused. They do not stand by their products or quality and just blame it on the manufactures. I will never buy from them again and tell everyone not to buy from them.

Hit or miss with this company. At times the "Pro Center" was very helpful; other times worthless. They corrected their mistake but have failed to reimburse me for the labor to uninstall/reinstall my step railing. I won't be going there again.

I wish I could support a family owned business. But the problem is they are mostly unhelpful. Their knowledgeable people take 1 hour lunches on a Saturday at the same time. Who does this? This is why people go to big box stores and or shop on line. Who has time to make multiple trips to get service?

I live in Ballwin, so 84 Lumber was very convenient for me to buy decking hardware. When the carpenter told me I needed more, I looked online for a better price. Hackmann's price was $101.79/box compared to $128.78 at 84. Plus, everyone wore a mask, (not a single person did at 84), and the staff was incredibly helpful, compared to the fact that I had to spend a few minutes at 84 looking for anyone to help me. Even though St. Peters is not geographically convenient, I will definitely be shopping at Hackmann's from now on.
