Today I went for the Harvesters food distribution. I didn't pick up for myself as I'm still working on the last groceries! I picked up for two other families and still had a lot to share w a third family.Harvesters is so generous and the foods are high quality and often interesting.The people I share them with are so delighted, and that makes me feel gratified.As for the Salvation Army store, I go on Monday when I go because it's senior citizen day with a discount. They have a nice display of glassware and vcr tapes that I rifle through. I have bought framed pictures, table cloths, bed linens, knick knacks, etc. It's a nice store commensurate with our small town. When I'm seriously looking, I go to Liberty or Overland Park.I have not investigated their other social services offered in an office via a side door.
