Customer Service was awful. They accused me of entering the incorrect shipping address when in fact I took a screen shot of my order which was correct. I received a text message of my order being delivered to an address in another state. When I called to inquire they could not look up the address (I had the foreign address and gave it to them) to get the phone number to call the client about the incorrect package received. I tried to reorder immediate and unfortunately the item was no longer available just after one week. Service recovery was awful and did not go the extra mile.

SS USED TO BE a good online merchant but not anymore!!!
Order shipped to wrong address and I have to wait for someone else to return my order before they will refund my money!?!?!?
Waited 15 days. No refund. Called again. Same story. Insisted my refund be issued and was told it was processed. Asked for an email confirming that. Still waiting.
They just lost a customer.

I ordered a pair of shoes too small so I wanted to return them. In the meantime I order a different size. I have requested a return label which I received however no packing slip for my return items. I wish I could speak to an american person. I have called 6 times. Don't think I will be ordering anytime soon.

I ordered two shirts from Soft Surroundings and they mail one shirt to the wrong address. One the the customer service manager's said it was my error because I ordered it online. He wants me the call the person they mailed it to and ask them to return it. Since I have no idea, who lives at this address, I can't do what he is requesting. So I am pleading with Reno NV residents and the US Postal service to please be honest, and return the package that was delivered to from Soft Surroundings to return the package as soon as possible.

Tried to place an order. Reached an obnoxious very high pressure guy who talked and talked about some promotional offer I’d have to sign up for to place my order. Had me on the phone a LONG time. Took my info. When I said I had a second order he gave me another number to call! I called that number and it was an ad for Direct TV! Have no idea if my order got taken. My second one didn’t! SCAM??!!

This is the poorest excuse for service I have ever seen. I ordered an electronic gift card. After 2 days, it still had not been delivered. I wasted 3 calls to their (so called) customer service. For my trouble, I received misinformation and outright lies. I strongly advise spending your money elsewhere, where you may just get some value out of it. My regret is that there is not a lower rating to give.

I bought a dress on sale, price got lower but I understand they don't do adjustments. I received the dress, nice, however now there isn additional charge of $13+ on my card. The way I read it is that the price at moment of purchase may not be correct.what a bunch of cologne. First time, but never never again..

Items I ordered were poor quality and had returned two items that were from 2 orders with their return label. I was only credited for one item and told they had to be returned separately. I am out 100 dollars. Their customer service has declined. I will never shop there again.

Soft Surroundings (1) misrepresents what it sells, (2) overprices cheap goods, and (3) fails to return much of your money when you return goods. For example, in May 2024, it called its Oceo tunic "gauze," in a gross misrepresentation. This fabric is not gauze at all---but a cheap, thin, ramie and rayon fabric. This is false advertising. This cheap material is also cut like a giant box. It has no shape whatsoever. When I returned 2 such misrepresented tops, I received back only 80% of what I actually paid...a giant rip off. I am blocking soft surroundings and never ordering from them again. Despite 20 years of many orders, Soft Surroundings has become a sleaze-bag company, with sleazy, cheap, overpriced goods.

Soft Surroundings is literally a different company now. The original company that I loved is gone. It underwent a Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was acquired by a Hong Kong based logistics company for a mere fraction of Soft Surroundings' annual revenue back in its heyday. The new owner operates the business solely online and via catalog. The brick-and-mortar stores were closed. The catalogs now look and feel cheap and uninteresting; and they feature lower quality clothes worn by a different caliber of models. The catalogs no longer include home goods or makeup/skincare. And they no longer sell tall size clothes, which eliminates me from their customer base, even if the quality of their clothes hadn't nose-dived. Pity that this once wonderful, high-quality, high-style and sometimes elegant line of clothes no longer exists. (I wonder whether SS's rapid expansion into B&M stores contributed to its financial woes, especially with the advent of COVID.)

I used to love soft surroundings unfortunately my store closed in Minnesota, due to bankruptcy I believe for chapter 13. I just had an email about a 30% discount, I got to the shipping and it was $14.99 to ship one item!!! They are expensive to begin with much less paying $15 to ship one item. My discount barely covered my shipping. Won't be shopping there anymore, do they really think they're closing is that special!! Not anymore

This used to be a good company. NOT ANY MORE!!! Their personnel is inept and most do not have a good grip on the English language. They will not get managers. They don't listen. They ask the same questions that you already answered. The reviews on the BBB is overwhelming and accurate. This company should NOT be in business. Shame on them for stressing out customers that only want to give them business A manager (Brill) said he would flag my acct. that I could return items if they didn't fit. I placed the order. The next day they left a message for me to call them and I did. They said they had to re write my order and they would NOT honor the Managers promise to not charge shipping on items that did NOT fit. ( the reason for this in the first place was I had to order two of the same items in two different sizes, not knowing which would fit .) I don't want ANY emails or regular mail to come to me from this company again, EVER. I also filed with the BBB. There is a lot more that transpired in my 2 days of dealing with them on the phone, however I don't want to stress myself out anymore by going into more detail. Thank you, Kathleen A. McClure

No one knows if there is a black Friday sale or what it will be. Know one knows what the sale was last year. I was told by two different associates that they are not told anything until they arrive on black Friday. They cannot hold items for a week and all sales are final. I bought a few things and put about $500 in clothes I wanted back on the rack. No wonder the store is going out business.
