I love this auto shop- I feel like it’s hard to trust a lot of spots cause as a woman I feel like I get taken advantage of, but they’re super honest here - will let you know how long you have before you’ll need new tires or have sent me home with a really solid timeline on when I’d need a break replacement so I can budget for it. All in all the customer service is top tier, the staff are super knowledgeable and they’re kind!

I brought my car in mid May to put a used transmission in my car which was roughly about $2500. I’ve had to bring my car back at least 4 different times to try and because it never drove right again. Today my car has officially died. Wish I had the $2500 to put down on a new car. I feel like I flushed it down the toilet.

My Toyota Prius needed a brake actuator replaced. I purchased the part from La Grange Toyota, a certified OEM parts supplier.
Made an appointment for Monday.
Was just told that the mechanic "just didn't want to do it."
One star.

You can’t ask for a better mechanic. Always incredibly fast turn around with the problem fixed right the first time. I highly recommend Gray’s if you need anything done to your car!

This place is amazing. I needed to get my car inspected today. I must have called 6-8 different places who not only couldn’t fit me in today, but the wait ranged from tomorrow to 6 weeks. Gray’s got me in immediately and inspected my car in around 20 minutes. They are not far from me. I think I found a new place to go to if my car ever needs repairs.

I come from a small town, so when I was looking for a garage after moving to the city, I wanted a place that felt small and personal ... and one that didn't try to gouge me. Every time I've had to bring my car into Gray's, they make sure they do everything they can to keep me from spending an insane amount of money. I'm very grateful that I found them.

Came here on someone’s recommendation. Excellent. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Gray’s today. Checked out my car, addressed the concerns I had and didn’t upsell maintenance that wasn’t due. Can’t imagine going anywhere else now.

The car service (once properly diagnosed) was fast and done well, but the interaction and misdiagnosis by one of the mechanics was not great. My fiancée brought her car here for a common steering issue found in her year/model of her car. The mechanic claimed nothing was wrong with the steering after he completed his inspection. She probably didn’t explain the problem very well, something that can be difficult for people to do, but a thorough inspection and basic research should have found the issue in the first run through. Regardless, the mechanic sent her on her way and that was that. But there was something still very clearly wrong with the steering, so she did some research and sent the car back a couple days later for a second inspection. She told the mechanic what she found online and that its likely an issue with the coupler... all of the symptoms matched. For some reason the mechanic must have took offense to this, as he spoke to her in a condescending tone. At one point he even says “permission to speak freely?” And proceeds to tell her that she shouldn’t question the inspection of her car that they did. He tried to convince her that noises coming from the car isn’t unusual for aging cars, in a way that one would explain to a child. Finally, he mentioned that there was no charge for the first inspection, but there would definitely be a charge for the second inspection. She left feeling embarrassed and mocked even though she knew there was something wrong with her car and it was likely what she mentioned after doing research.Well, as it turns out, my fiancée was correct in her research and the mechanic was wrong. Not only was she right about the issue with her car, but the original inspection didn’t properly diagnose the issue (the steering coupler was obliterated). I’m not even sure there was an inspection completed to begin with... maybe just a quick drive around the block. I’m not sure.No apology was given, no recognition that the mechanic was insulting and incorrect, none of that. I understand that maybe he didn’t realize he was rude, but there should be some recognition that he was wrong/didn’t find the problem in the original inspection which could have led to a dangerous situation for her. Maybe that’s a liability issue? I don’t know. The car is fixed and the service was completed quickly, so that is commendable and all good, but that interaction/misdiagnosis really sucked.
