It's been a long while (2018!) since I stepped into a Crate & Barrel. The last time, I found it expensive, pretentious and very high end. So with some time before my meetup at the restaurant across the way, I popped in here to have my expectations met.And no, they were not. Sure, there are some high prices on some items but the sort of stuff that I now decorate with? The tableware is very reasonably priced. The decor had some deals. The cookware was not outrageous. Sure, it's more expensive than the pots and pans you're buying at Walmart but this set of plain white dishes and bowls and cups? Simply lovely and not at all over priced.As I browsed, I was asked once or twice if I needed any help but it was never obtrusive and my simply "Just looking" let them know that I did not need assistance. Refreshing to not be bothered by salespeople. Delightful!

Found a smokin' hot deal on a Instant Vortex 6Qt air fryer here. Was greeted at the door and asked if I needed help, politely declined just to go look at the item on the shelf, when I was sure that was the one, Peggy helped with the purchase and got me out the door. Seamless, thank you ladies for your help today.

We went late in the day. The staff was friendly but seemed more concerned with wrapping up for the day than explaining fabric types and furniture features. Nice furniture, but I definitely was not impressed by the effort put forth by the staff to educate us about their products. We ended up purchasing elsewhere.

We purchased an entire set of Wren matte white plates and bowls. After one use of several of the pieces, obvious scratching/discoloration was visible on the plates. It was used with flatware that we've used for 3+ years with no obvious issues with our previous, cheaper dishes.Upon trying to return the dishes, I was told the scratched pieces could not be returned because they were used, and the scratching after one use was not considered a "factory defect." After talking with a manager, they granted a one-time exception of store credit for the dinnerware.I then asked how I could avoid buying dinnerware that would show scratches after one use when using my store credit. They advised that I should look at the website and avoid items with negative reviews. Not entirely sure why a higher-end homeware store would stock items that require the customer to read reviews to filter out bad ones, and then graciously offer only store credit when someone accidentally buys a low quality item.Would not recommend, if you're looking to spend on high quality plates and bowls then shop elsewhere.

Crate and Barrel advertises free in home consultation but when it comes time to your scheduled appointment, they cancel on you the day of the actual appointment, then when you reschedule, they call you that same day basically asking "Are you sure you still want us to come out?" And when you confirm yes, they call you 10 minutes before your scheduled time with some made up story of why they can't come out as agreed upon. Their "designers" are basically doing geographic and racial profiling of you as a customer because if you don't live in a certain "upscale" area, you are not worth the trip!! Disgusting customer service Erin Hillbrook! Definitely lost a customer today.

Throw away furniture for people with more money than they know what to do with? Crate and Barrel product care support seems to be basically absent, woe into any who let cosmetic damage come to veneered dresser, etc (let alone the structure). I smell a parasite.

The lady was extremely helpful in getting what my sister and I needed for shower gifts and gift cards and carefully boxed up the items for us.
