I used Metric Mechanic for a project several months ago. It was a 2002 BMW M5 with a manual transmission. Long story short Jim knows everything about these vehicles transmissions and has tons of years of experience in the field. As stated on his website, he has come up with over 10 custom tools in order to perform these rebuilds. The job was done timely and professionally. Jim's son was the one to actually perform the work and keeping it in the family is stellar! I was unsure of him and the company as we were states away and were taking a gamble using them for the first try. Jim spent over 40 minutes talking to me about his experience and the transmission I was working on, at the end of the call I knew they were the place for us. He loves these cars and has a passion for the trade. The transmission itself was long gone and parts were no longer available. He was able to source the parts when no one else in the country could help, I did TONS of research. Thanks Jim and team!

They rebuilt a 5 speed transmission for my BMW 2002. I was very hesitant to send my transmission to them having had a few bad experiences in the past. Jim Rowe answered all my questions and put me at ease with any questions I had about the rebuild process. I learned a bunch of other BMW stuff too just spending time talking to him on the phone. People like Jim that take the time to share their years of knowledge with individuals like myself are irreplaceable. I finally managed to get my rebuilt transmission mounted and in the car and so far it has exceed everything I could have hoped for. I would not hesitate to use them again!!

They are the best BMW shop I had ever dealt with. They rebuilt my 260 getrag out of my E28. Super strong at a reasonable price. Just recently Jim gave me a part that was discontinued. Great place!!

Best in the business! I've been going to Metric Mechanic for 5 years. They built my entire drivetrain from front to back. I have put a beating on my car, had lots of parts fail, except the drivetrain! Still going strong even with a 19 psi supercharger bolted to the engine! These fine people are enthusiasts, building for enthusiasts.

What was a search for a simple part three years ago, turned into not only a wonderful professional relationship, but also a personal friendship. Jim, Teddy, Tyler, Taren and Christina made me feel like a part of the Metric Mechanic family and do so to this day.
