“Really great vintage store! All items were very nice and well priced with a wide variety, unlike some vintage stores that have high mark-ups. All clothes are clean and in good repair. Owner is super nice and helpful. They also have a very spacious and decorated fitting room, great for mirror selfies lol. Highly recommend stopping in here!”

“OLD Joes Town had more of a thrift store, mixed with consignment , with a touch of Maximalism, that gave the feel of slight scavenger hunt around each corner with a Lower price tag to match.

NEW Joes Town is more department store aesthetic, mixed with consignment, with a touch of Minimalism, that gives you the feel of neat, organized, structured, Upscale with a price tag to follow.

As a Long Time Parton of the Old James Town, this is a New Chapter…”

“This place is absolutely amazing!! And so are the owner and employees. I needed clothes so I could wash the only ones I own at the laundromat that were on my body and they were willing to work with me and the only money I had at the moment. They helped me replace some of what I had lost this week and that goes pretty far in my book about how great they are and I will go to their thrift store before any other one from here on out!! Thank you for being so thoughtful and caring!!”

“Thrift World is a thrift store offering a variety of moderately priced second hand items. I am honestly not sure how I came upon this place, but my goodness am I thankful I did. This place has so many selections (especially for the plus size section). I was browsing for at least an hour and that was a very speedy version. If you visit their website, they list discount days. If you sign up for the text alerts, you'll have knowledge of the special sales going on from time to time. I love this place.”

“Changed my life for the better. Made me look more at myself and God and what I can control and react. Would have gave it 5 Starz but I went when the pandemic hit and they suspended visitation/ escape. They had to take us for supervised walks.”

“I'm a diehard thrifter (I made this word up) so I visit thrift stores wherever I find them. It's not a large store and there's not a huge selection as with other thrift stores that I've visited but as always a "once drop in" doesn't hurt. Never know what you might find. It was cool and the cashier had me rollin. She used a counterfeit marker on my $5 bill. We both got a laugh outta that. I'll stop by again when I'm in the area.”

“Things are not in right places and if you’re going to find something particular it’s going to take a very long time. HOWEVER, everything in the store (clothing wise) is $2 or less!! Which is a very good price for thrift clothes nowadays.”

“Always a great selection of clothing and kitchen utensils. I've been all over Kansas City, you have to check out all the Salvation Army stores. If you're are 55 and older they have great discounts through out the week.”

“The staff at this location is absolutely incredible. Every single person that works there always has a smile on their face and is always happy to greet you. I lost my phone today and had it not been for such an attentive staff and the idea to turn off the overhead music, I wouldn't have found my phone and I'm so grateful and thankful. Even the shoppers there stopped to help me.”

“Larry and his staff were amazing and so friendly. The store was IMMACULATE and very well organized. We are from out of town and will put this store on our list to revisit.”

“DAV Chapter #2 is among the best veterans service organizations in Kansas City. Because of this, my slightly used donations are usually delivered here.

Additionally, Red Racks has had a very long history at this location. Their displays are exceptional. However, like most businesses, some staff are friendly, and others definitely should not work with the general public, especially veterans!

Overall it's a very cool place for reasonable purchases or simply a walk-through. And, hopefully, you won't encounter any rude staff.”

“I've been a regular customer at this store for over eight years. I like that I can go there and find a complete capsule wardrobe. I was there two days ago. I bought two winter coats (like new) six sweaters, bootie boots. I paid $98.00. Yes, it was expensive for a Thrift store but the quality of the sweaters are like new, good quality. If I'd buy everything brand new it would've been over $300.00; specifically if I had bought my coats at a name store like JCPenney or Burlington. One coat is a black long petty coat with a hoodie. One is a short grey petty coat. The prices are on items; if you pay attention as you enter; the cashier will tell you the 50%, 60%,75%items on sale that day. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY SAY AS YOU WALK IN. This will make your shopping experience efficient because then you'll know what to focus on for that day.I buy lamps, pots and pans, shirts for work for my hubbie, furniture items sometimes they get new items that are nice.I put four stars because they DO NOT ? HAVE RESTROOMS. To all elderly customers; do not?? go into the store expecting to use the restroom. They will tell you, to go elsewhere. ??”

“5 stars for the staff at this location. My crossbody bag was stolen today and I figured they would just be like “tough luck” because of how crazy it is there but they were not they were very helpful and vigilant. They put the pressure on so much that the person ditched the bag in a bin and someone “found it” and returned it. I was so thankful that they were vigilant in a situation that seemed hopeless. I also learned to be a little more careful next time I go.”
