This place is killing pets going in to get fixed and causing pain on families. They need their license removed for malpractice. This is ridiculous!!!

My 2.5 year old dog went in to get fixed and went into cardiac arrest when they were taking her off of anesthesia. She passed away and they put her in a room and laid her down on a bed with a blanket. They put us in the room with tissues, and a bag to bury her in. They didn’t help us at all and we had to personally make paw prints. Overall terrible clinic. How could they do this to such a young, innocent dog?

I would give a zero if I could. My 2.5 year old dachsund went in for a spay and was told over the phone that she went into cardiac arrest while being closed up and passed. Was told once the dust settled I could call them back. The secretary at the front made it seem like bloodwork wasn’t necessary as they only really push for 7 years or older to get it done. I had to take her weight up front but the scale was off and I tried zeroing it out so her weight taken could’ve been off. Unsure if they double checked before surgery. Then when I was on my way to go see her, I was on hold for 10 minutes to ensure it was ok? after waiting for 10 minutes to be seen, I was given a bag for us to take her home in and the staff felt very cold to all of us. Something feels very off about this all seeing as how this was such a routine surgery, she was so young and overall healthy.

I am so impressed and so very thankful for this clinic. I was not an existing customer. And they came to my rescue on a holiday weekend. On the Friday morning of the memorial weekend my friend called me that his young female Donkey, who was not known to be pregnant ...went into labor trying to deliver a dead baby. I was frantically calling any vet, anywhere to help. i needed a "field veterinarian " one that comes to the site. All my calls were either..we don't have a field vet or since I wasn't a customer they couldn't help me....or their field vet was on vacation. However Pleasant Hill Animal clinic...knowing I was not a current customer..contacted their field vet..( on a holiday weekend) and told me it was iffy..but if possible he would try to fit me into the already busy day. This pet Donkey was dying. It was so sad..then a call came in that the vet could fit the visit. He saved her life. I have no words other than THANK YOU to the receptionist and to the Doctor..I was frantic, I was desperate and you helped a stranger.

I wrote a review on 4/3/24 after our 3rd bad experience with this clinic. After speaking to an extremely rude person at their office I cancelled our Dog's appointment scheduled for 5/24/24 and made an appointment at a difference Vet's office. Today I received an email from Pleasant Hill Animal Clinic asking me to confirm our appointment which just infuriated me all over again. The office staff at this clinic is completely RUDE and INCOMPETENT! I don't believe they give a Rat's A$$ about peoples Pets as I've never been treated badly by any Vet's office until this place!

Truly awful clinic. They lied to me, contradicted their own words, injured my dog, and overall treated my pet poorly as well as myself.
I took my dog here for an emergency - he was suddenly not walking right on his back leg and fell repeatedly. They told us they did not have any appointments available but they were willing to let us bring him in that day. We asked if there was any way he could be out of a kennel; he is an 8 year old dane and may have trouble getting in and out of a kennel. They seemed super accommodating and told us they would keep him in an exam room for the day and monitor him.
They call us later and tell me he has completely torn a ligament in his leg; the vet mentioned that there is a brace we can use, but we would need to discuss that option. Otherwise, there is no option aside from surgery or euthanasia. We are all devastated, of course, and we start preparing ourselves for what may happen; surgery is expensive, and we expected that there was a chance we would not be able to afford it, but hopefully we could discuss the brace mentioned over the phone.
We arrive and the receptionist gives us the info from the vet provided. The info provided was on an ankle sprain - a human ankle sprain. i asked why we were given this and they said it was fine and comparable to dogs. We then asked about the brace and if we could discuss it. The receptionist told me "the vet does not think it would work." I asked if there was a chance to at least discuss something similar to it, just to make him as comfortable as possible for the time being. I was given the exact same, repeated answer, despite what i was told on the phone, and the vet would not come and speak to me.
I asked what they had done as far as assessment as to how bad the sprain was. They told me the tendon in his foot was completely torn in half (I was told it was his entire leg over the phone?). I have worked in a veterinary setting and I have helped rehabilitate a horse with a completely torn tendon. You cannot move that foot. My dog is able to use his foot, but it is just difficult. I asked if they did any Xrays, and they said no. I double-checked the bill and there was no charge for Xrays, so they were telling the truth on that one. I did not get the chance to ask about why they were not done, as they brought out my dog. I started taking my dog out and noticed he was bleeding. His elbows, paw pads, and back end were raw and bleeding, like they had been laying on a grate and were scraped up against it. I asked if he was in a room, and they told me yes earlier and stated that he would not be in a kennel. There was NO way he wasn't in a kennel. He literally had a kennel grate imprint on his back end.
I am absolutely appalled by the lack of transparency, the contradicting information (and the human information instead of dog information???), the lies, and the lack of actual care for my pet. I worked at a clinic, and I will tell you right now that this is NOT how veterinary clinics should be treating owners and their pets. I will never be setting foot in this clinic ever again.

They misdiagnose time after time, keep doing the same exams over and over again, and keep taking your money over and over again until you get smart enough to go to a vet with a brain. By then it's too late and you find out your dog has cancer and dies. Don't leave an honest review that they don't like because they flag your account. It's another form of censorship. My advice is if you love your animal, don't take it to Pleasant Hill Animal Clinic.

These people are mad because I gave them a bad review. They’re in the service to help animals but yet they don’t do it. All they do is take your money and take your money and treat you like you’re nothing or nobody they don’t care about your animals.. And once you give them a bad review, they flag your account and they won’t service your animals. Censorship for honesty. Again what kind of people are they to not care for a sick animal? And they will keep getting bad reviews from me. If they don’t like the reviews on social media then they shouldn’t be on social media. They took hundreds and hundreds of dollars for me and my dog died of cancer. The cancer could’ve been found earlier and treated if they would have done something besides rectal exams every time I took my dog there. I finally took him to another vet and two visits, he was diagnosed. These idiots couldn’t figure it out.. They’re not in business for your animals, just your money and if you’re smart, you won’t take your animals there. Please don’t take your animals there and it’s not just me, it’s everybody I’ve talked to. They say the same thing about this place. They’ll take your money and let your animal die. I’m sure this comment will be removed as well as my last one. They want your money they want your positive feedback, and other than that you’re worthless of them. And by the way, when my dog first started having problems, I was told good news is he doesn’t have cancer but I can see that he ate good and I’m thinking to myself he didn’t eat today. That was the first, then it was a rectal exam. Every time I went, and I was told there was no problems when actually he had cancer and for a year and a half it was inside of him, eating him from the inside out. When he was finally diagnosed by another vet, it was too late. Just think twice before you go here. I love my animals, and I will never take another one here again.

When my bonus daughter was visiting her dog Baxter had an accident and passed. They were SO professional and kind helping with him and showed a very caring manner in letting her say her final goodbye to him! Would HIGHLY recommend them for any pet needs!!!

Amazing customer service. I’m visiting family and my senior pup had an accident and unexpectedly passed away. Although I’m not a client they were very kind during an extremely difficult time and I’ll always be grateful for that.

I've gone to this clinic for over 20 years, today was my first and last time seeing Dr Patterson. I explained this was a new dog who came from an abusive situation. That he is a little skittish and weird about things and I didn't know how he would react to shots. Instead of being compassionate and understanding, he felt the need to be dominate, pinned my dog to the ground and put his knee on his head to restrain him. I'm beyond furious! See another vet if you're looking for someone who actually cares about an animals welfare.

I am very impressed with how they treated my horse and I. Without being a client yet, I called yesterday with concerns about my horse. I was able to speak to Dr. Baker and listened, gave great advice, and answered all of my questions. Today, Dr. Layne performed a last minute barn visit for me. She was extremely kind and gentle in handling my horse, very thorough, and answered all of my questions. The office staff was also great, and very patient with me!
