I have been taking my dogs to the Plattsburg Animal Clinic for about three years. The veterinarians are very caring and responsive to our needs. The staff is great to work with as well.

In the past, I have had not-so-great experiences. We saw Dr. Beall recently and it was the first time I left without feeling completely frustrated by the Vet. We have an anxious GSD and she was patient, understanding and got her in and out as quick as she could to minimize stress.

It is hard to find a vet and team that understands livestock guardians. Well we found one here. Our Great Pyrenees had hot spots that needed more assistance. We called and they squeezed us in. They were not only knowledgable but had excellent bedside manner. We have now switched this clinic for all our dogs. Thank you!

My friend tried to get an emergency visit for her horse and was treated very poorly!!! Compassion for your customers and their pets is a must if you are going to provide these kinds of services!!! My friends horse passed away this morning after being told it could wait till morning…obviously it couldn’t!!! So sad for my friend and her family that loved that horse like family!!!

I would NOT recommend going here. My 12 year old little sister/family horse was needing to be seen yesterday(Sunday) and the new veterinarian was careless and would not come. I get it was a Sunday but if you offer 24 hour emergency service, then do your job! The fact that you are a veterinarian and didn’t want to come when my mom called and asked for you to come check her out and said it could wait until Monday shows how much of a heart you have!! Now it’s Monday and our sweet girl has passed away.

Never… I repeat never take your animal to this clinic! It used to be a great clinic, but they have new management now and is absolutely horrible. My family called about an emergency for our horse. I get it’s Sunday, but emergencies happen on Sundays too. We called the emergency hotline and the owner of the clinic literally said “I don’t have to have compassion because I run the show now.” He didn’t even listen to us when we were telling him how serious the situation was. So if you’re looking for someone to have compassion and help you with your dying animal… Don’t go here.

Thanks to Dr. Huser and Dr. Terry and all staff for excellent care of Stella today as she was getting spayed. She is at rest on my lap with Lady Bird intensely supervising.

Worst place ever, they got a very captive customer in this small town and lost all their bed side manner. Very expensive, don't count on them in case of emergency. Sorry to leave this review as we love plattsburg. I've had to drive to independence animal hospital twice now. All they care about is YOUR money.

Dr. Terry started taking care of my critters..whoa....way back in 1994/1995. Dr. Huser has been our regular doc for...6-7 years now. I love this vet office. They are all caring: Dr. Huser, Dr. Terry, Lisa, Tracy, Becky & Dr. Gardner. They may not have the answer the first time around, but they figure it out PDQ. They return calls before and after hours. They do care about the critters and about the humans who love them. I love & respect these folks. But most important, my animals like them and don't fear going to the clinic. T.Parker

We took our dog in for annual shots. I asked about worming and agreed to have it done. I watched the vet give our 80 lb dog 1 1/2 pills. Just for the worming the charge was $40. I found the same pills on petmeds.com for $12 a pill. We have a male puppy who needed to be neutered, but his t___cles did not descend. I was told that normally they charge $75, but this surgery would be $ 225. I agreed and had the surgery scheduled. Shortly after dropping him off, the vet called me to say that the surgery was very difficult and expensive. I replied that I was prepared to pay $225. He replied back "that's for each t__icle". I picked my dog up. They did not do the surgery. I called around to several animal clinics and was quoted $100 - $165 for the surgery to include both t___cles! The higher amount was if the t___icles were still in his stomach. The puppy had other problems as well. The puppy was neutered (his t___icles were in his stomach), had his hip repaired (legg parthes), and a baby tooth pulled all at the same time and it cost me a total of $ 350, which also included 3 days of boarding. We took a horse in for a simple coggins test. This gelding is normally very calm for Dr. Taylor. This day the female vet was drawing the blood. As soon as she came out, we could tell that she was fearful of this horse. He could sense it too and would not allow her to get close to him. We ended up twitching him to get it done. We have always paid $23 for this test, this time they also added an office call charge of $12. The vet tech, Lisa, works very well with our dogs and horses, however she doesn't determine the charges. We would like to support the hometown business, however I think we are done dealing with the Animal Clinic. We have talked to several others in town and they feel the same way. Unfortunately, they are pricing themselves out of business.
