Good location! Good coffee! We had 2 cockroaches in our room! Room is a 4 out of 10. Blankets, shower curtains, towels have stains!

If 0's were an option they would get all of them. Absolutely disgusting hotel. We weren't even in out room for 15 minutes before 2 cockroaches came out from under one of the beds! we immediately requested to be checked out and be refunded. They refunded my $100 deposit but absolutely refused to refund the cost of the room. EVEN THOUGH WE WERE ONLY IN IT FOR MAYBE 15 MINUTES. I wont even go into how we had no toilet paper and when we went to the desk to get some they told my mother that they DONT HAVE A CLEANING SERVICE!! DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU CARE IN THE SLIGHTEST.
Rooms: Disgusting. Not clean. Bed sheets had stains on them. Cockroaches in rooms.
Noteworthy details: Cockroaches! Told us that they 'had just sprayed and thought they were gone' so clearly have had a problem with them and aren't cleaning at all to make sure the problem was taken care of. Also stated they 'don't have cleaning people'.

No check in after midnight. Nobody at the front desk to tell you this. I lost my booking because of this. Slept in the front lobby.

This was by the far the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. The room was dirty, refrigerator wasn’t plugged in and when we opened it - the smell about knocked you over. There were stink bugs everywhere, even in the bed. The floor was absolutely disgusting and falling in.
Front desk wasn’t helpful at all. Spoke with the manager Crystal about the experience, she ended up hanging up on me multiple and telling me that because we didn’t check out within a few minutes of checking in - nothing could be done. Even though when we did try to talk to someone at the front desk that was ‘closed’ we were told we had to call the next day and speak to a manager.
Overall TERRIBLE and DISGUSTING experience.

Reserved my room and paid $120. I came to find out that I was “too late” to check in and they gave my room away. On the email I received it says that I could check in whenever and that there would be 24 hour front desk service. Absolute joke of a hotel.

I hate leaving a bad review, so let me just point out what can be improved for positive experience for others
I stayed there in the night of Oct 11 2024.
Here is list of things I have noted;
1. Smoke detector was missing in bed room
2. Molds are in bed room and bathroom
3. Bathroom was falling a part as seen in picture. When I initially run a water in bathtub, a black water came out, when I ran a water in sink to wash my hands, water leaked in the counter.
4. Furnitures seemed alike it’s been chewed out by animals alike dog or rodents.
5. There was a noticeable gap between Ac/heater and wall that led all sorts of insects to have an access. I end up killing 2 stinkbugs and end up getting bitten countless mosquito bites.
6. Swim pool and gym was unusable due to lack of maintenance.

This a one star hotel....the bathroom was straight up nasty....like never cleaned. Bed, and linen looks like it was changed....but yeah, good for a one night stay for a solo traveler ...that's about it.

DISGUSTING! Do not BOOK!!!!!!!!

1st Room Blood Walls
2nd room Filthy - Bugs
3rd room cleaned by staff quickly in front of me to find that there was NO MATTRESS COVER & COCKROACHES AND BUGS EVERYWHERE. It does appear there ARE BED BUGS AS WELL.
Bugs were EVERYWHERE!
The hotel staff decided to let me check out when I discovered the bugs in the second room on Saturday night. It was 3 AM. He said he wouldn’t charge me for that night or the following night that was booked, but he would have to charge me for Friday night.
Pregnant and put on antibiotics due to an infection because they didn’t even have a bed cover on their bed and have bedbugs which I’m allergic to. The choice hotels and asked them for a refund and was willing to send them photos before leaving reviews.
They told me that that they would reach out to the manager at the hotel and see what they would do. I gave the courtesy of calling the manager of the hotel because he did try his best and his owner of his hotel is clearly not doing his job and fumigating and we’re giving them the supplies they need. They didn’t even have Kleenexes. he said they didn’t have Kleenexes forever since they’ve been there.
When I called and asked the manager so that I didn’t have to resort to this, he said that he would not be processing the refund the owner of the hotel said I stayed there and needed to pay for it . . I am absolutely not stopping at this. I will report this to choice hotels because they do not want their name attached to this. It is beyond disgusting. It is absurd that anyone would pay more than even free to stay at this dumpster dive.
Additionally, they do this to so many people a patron actually assaulted the manager of the hotel while I was staying there because they falsely advertised to her as well and would not process the refund until normal business hours (in my opinion she should have waited until normal business and walked away) however, the fact of the matter is, this is infuriating and the fact that they just take no accountability to provide literally dirty rooms, not have rooms that are booked online I booked a King & they put us in a double queen twice then moved us to a suite that had a king.
When I say this place needs condemning, I’m not being dramatic.
I’ll update post once I hear from Corporate.

If I could give them a 0 I would. The hotel rooms were extremely disgusting. Not vacuumed, MOLD in the bathrooms, stains on the bed. We checked out of the property within 15mins. We would never stay in a place like this. The customer service was a nightmare. Crystal hung up on me 3x & refused to help with a refund. After a week I was able to get the manager, Chris on the phone & he always was extremely hostile & hung up on me. It was a disgusting experience & you would be better off sleeping in your car. Attached are the photos of the mold.

I worked here in the mid 90s and it was a very clean and well run hotel. While visiting home in June of 2024 I drove by to see what it was like. After entering the parking lot, I didn't even want to go inside. From the exterior it looks like people live here long term. I can't believe how run down and dirty it looks, dirty in all ways. I did not stay here and did not see the interior. I must say though that interior photos on the Choice Hotels website do not match the feel of the exterior so much so that I wonder if the interior photos are AI images. There is no way I would ever stay here from the looks of the exterior. Didn't even feel safe. No way.
Safety: Platte City is a very clean and safe town. This hotel, from the exterior appearance, stands out, how dirty and run down it has become. Just from driving around it in the parking lot, no way I would stay there. Wouldn't feel safe leaving my truck there for sure.

I don’t know what I stayed in but that was not a hotel at all. If you want to spend the night with roaches and every bug under the sun then stay here. If not then don’t bother, the outdoors in a tent may be a better option. Mattresses in the pool, dirty hallways, hair in the sinks, bathtub chipping, 6 different smells that was horrendous.

Absolutely disgusting!
Upon arriving there was a sign saying the front desk was closed, so I had to call someone on their phone & wait several minutes for her to arrive. While waiting, my sinuses started going crazy because of the stench in the lobby. The elevator was broken, & when she took me to see the room, there was food laying on the floor of the room & although it was allegedly supposed to be clean, there were bugs crawling around the food. I told them at the front desk I didn't want to stay there & the angry manager informed me that they will not cancel my reservation and I would not get my points back, and he walked away. His wife, who I guess is the assistant manager, was wearing pajamas. The entire place stank and smells of mold and mildew. The pool area was trashed and had a mattress laying inside the pool.
Disgusting, unprofessional & unhealthy!

This place is terrible between dogs barking, people playing loud music all night. Refrigerator leaks , The tub is pealing it is horrible
I'm ready to walk away from a 7 night stay. And yes my Choice Hotel review is definitely getting the same review.
Noteworthy details: Do not stay...... It is terrible 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
