“Great facility and friendly staff. The weight area isn’t the biggest but it gets the job done. The pool/swim area is very spacious and family friendly. They also have a sauna and steam room.”

“I have been at this box since 2011. It is fantastic. I love doing CrossFit because it is a great way to connect in a very healthy environment. It allows me to live life on my own terms being able to perform physical tasks and challenges of people 15 -20 years younger than me. Doing CrossFit makes my life easier outside of the gym because we focus on functional movements and strength building. Being a part of this community has allowed me the luxury to go into the gym and meet like-minded people. Only good supportive individuals allowed. :-)”

“Great gym!! I have now dropped into KCI CrossFit multiple times when I have been in town and it is an awesome gym. The programming is always great! Nick is a great coach who made me feel welcome and the warmup and the workout was great. They have a good community at KCI and if your looking for a home gym or a drop in gym this is the place.”
“The staff and management went out of their way to make my short stay in town caring for my combat veteran father-in-law who is going through cancer treatment as pleasant as they could!I wish my gym back home was as well equipped, maintained and staffed.“Yeah, I’d lift that!””
“This is my go-to gym on base! It may look old on the outside, but don’t let it deceive you because the equipment is new and this place has everything you need! Staff are always friendly and willing to help if needed. The locker rooms are a little out of date but the staff make sure it’s as clean as possible. It can get pretty crowded during lunch time, but I have seen a lot worse. There is no pool at this location, but they do have a lot of equipment for heavy lifting and those people who like to do that CrossFit stuff. Even though I always wear my own headphones it would be nice if they had some music playing every day for those random days I forget mine. Other than that this place is a great spot to get your lift on!”

“I have been a member for over ten years and frequented many AF gyms. Overall, this AF in Lansing is my favorite for several reasons: 1. Clean, 2. Friendly staff, 3. Comfortable temperature (I appreciate being able to workout on my lunch break without feeling the need to take another shower due to high temperature), 4. Paper towels in restrooms, 5. Maintained equipment, 6. Music not blaring from house speakers. Great job!”

“During these summer vacations I decided to research gym options to take advantage of the time (almost 1 month) and this was the best option I could find. This branch has all the necessary equipment to do all types of exercise, very clean and organized bathrooms and areas, friendly staff willing to help you, open 24 hours a day so you can go whenever you want, parking available, offers for new and old members and the best price compared to the other gyms I investigated. I will definitely return next year ??”
“How best to describe this gym ?
Imagine a rich guy wants to weight train in the basement of his trendy brownstone but he's not looking to impress anyone with fancy, brand new stuff so he gets his equipment from second hand stores, estate sales of flood victims and the like. And gets some cardio equipment from post Katrina Lousuana to keep his wife happy.
That's not to say anything is BAD but if you went off looks alone you'd think it's in rough shape. Yet everything is functional and in good writing order.
They really should do something about the rust though(hence the previous flood references).
It's a nice, no nonsense gym but manage expectations if you are looking for a pristine gym out of some Hollywood rom com meet q cuz this ain't it. No studio, no multi purpose area. You have brick, mortar and metal but you can do a lot with it.
Maybe get a tetanus booster to be on the safe side.
There's plenty of machines and equipment and it is surprisingly well spaced so you never feel like you're on top of anyone else. They definitely did a lot with limited square footage.
A few odd side notes: they have a plethora of weight belts but only one squat cage.
I came in the morning before staff and there was no music. It was basically like a silent disco and I was the one without head phones. Once staff arrived, music came on and I think they control it from the office, so be prepared if you like to work out at off hours.
By and large, a good small town gym for people who want to get a good pump in without many frills.”
