FYI, the Salvation Army in O'Fallon, MO does not take furniture, electronics, dishes, mattresses, or clothing. The Salvation Army Thrift store accepts these items.

Don't take donations for drop off. I had all kinds of good blankets and new toys. Don't accept them.

We went there this morning because my husband lost his job, and we can't even seem to get government assistance to help which is crazy because we always pay our taxes and work not taking anything!!! The only thing I could do when we left this place was cry from how kind and amazing these people were!! They gave us a whole basket of food!!! They treated us with such dignity and love. I could barely get out the words, "thank you" through my tears!!! Very very wonderful people!! When we get back on our feet I definitely want to volunteer there. For sure donate to give back. Amazing people!! ♥️♥️ ~Russell and Elizabeth Davis~

Some of the best people I have ever met I felt like family to do a few hours of community service. I will always cherish the few hours I experienced with this crew thank you so much..uncle Fred Nugent

I thought I would do something Godly today .. I had over $350 dollars worth of groceries to donate all types of can goods , dry food boxes of rice & noodles & even meat including chicken , fish , steak, prkchops & ribs.. they asked me what I had , as I was listing off a few things the lady hung up in my face. I heard the phone slam Smh .. Never again will I try to help this place.. how could they be so picky when there are so many homeless people including the ones they are housing ... how could you turn down food?? This place is pathetic

Very nice people. They close at 11:45am contrary to what their site says. Make sure you sign in on the board outside before they open, because they will go in that order. You can do this a couple hours before they open even and come back.

A great place for food if you are in need. Michelle runs a very efficient and thorough pantry and all of the volunteers are very kind and funny.

Juniata was not friendly when my children said hi to her once we first walked in from losing our home she tried to talk down at our family and told them how they must first come correct and call her Miss and mama she went on to tell us she demands respect .. Myself and my children spoke very polite the minute we walked in to the shelter just like we would any place but it wasn't good enough . I was told I wouldn't pass a drug test and I did pass !! because I don't do drugs . The verbal abuse towards staff and other people with less than 24 hours was so toxic and nerve wrecking. Juanita was beyond unprofessional so much more happenedl i just leave that right there because because. Was 3 years ago .. This place used to have a very nice lady named Peggy and she retired I know this because I used to go to a few classes and help set up for different programs at this shelter and other places I volunteer at . I kno for a fact that the intentions of most staff are Good and these members want to help So I gave it 5 stars ⭐ one bad experience with one person during my time of need won't change my rating alsoI want others to come in knowing that it wasn't there fault if they were mis treated by Juanita. I pray that the new staff in her replacement are A solid reflection of the mission of William booth and led by our awesome God'
