I had a terrible experience with the Mercy Pharmacy at Dierbergs Deer Creek Crossing. My regular Mercy Pharmacy was out of the generic medicine I needed, and none of the other local Mercy Pharmacies had it either—except for Deer Creek Crossing. Three other Mercy locations confirmed that Deer Creek Crossing had a large supply. However, the temporary pharmacist there decided to hoard the medication, she told me I would have to wait until July 4th to speak with the regular pharmacist. I couldn't wait and had to spend over $900 on the name-brand medication.
In the United States, the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) regulates the manufacture, importation, possession, use, and distribution of certain substances. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) enforces this law, and it includes provisions to prevent hoarding of medications by pharmacies.
Thanks to Deer Creek Crossing for hoarding medications and causing unnecessary pain for Mercy customers.
