Very professional staff. Wife and I are new to the area and glad we have a provider as exceptional as Ralls County Electric Co-Op is!

year. Ralls county co op has the most expensive billing we have ever encountered. They charge a service fee on each of our 2 meters (house and barn) of $42.50. We are charged $85 before we even use a kilowatt of electricity. Then they charge for usage according to peak demand times of the day. Its unacceptable that our electric cost more than our mortgage. We've been members since 2003 and have yet to see our member credit payment. I averaged our annual electric expenses and it comes out to be $398 a month. Winter months are in the high $598. We have a 2000 sq ft home and only 2 people living here. When we lived in stl and had a 3500 sq ft home our electric bill was a fraction of what we pay through the co op in Ralls county. Something needs to be done about these co ops providing less expensive service.

Unlike others, I had the best experience imaginable when I had an outage. I was standing outside and watched as a massive tree down the road fell over and took out the power line, obviously knocking out the power. I figured I would be without power for the remainder of the day, but within 2 hours of reporting the outage they had everything fixed.

First experience sucked. Power outage and my call to report doesn’t even go through. What the heck?!?

Do your own research, Worst possible county to move into for service because of this Electric Co-op and emergency services. Homeowners beware they are a crooked and do not serve the communities best interest. Co-op another word for rural monopoly.
