We enjoyed every part of our stay here, from the beautiful back porch to the sparkling clean room to the wonderful hospitality of the hostess. Make sure to get a demonstration of the working antique Victrola in the foyer. Hermann and Washington are both just ten minutes away, and the drive to either destination is beautiful. We will definitely stay here again.

The Central Hotel in New Haven, MO, is a gem. An old, old hotel in this quaint river town, it was gut-rehabbed and restored 20 or so years ago and today offers a feel of days gone by in a facility that is really very 21st century. The rooms are furnished and decorated in an old fashioned way, but the small TVs are perfect, the wi-fi works well, everything is spotlessly clean and all the plumbing works just the way it should (even in the claw-footed bathtubs found in a couple of the rooms. The lobby is a cozy place to visit, the dining area comfortable and very functional, the sitting porches are great places to pass a few hours with a book or a friend. There are “little touches” everywhere that make you feel at home. New Haven is not the hoppingest town in the Missouri River valley, but it is only about 10 or 12 minutes away from Washington (to the east), a larger town with lots of enterainment and dining options, and Hermann (to the west), the hub of Missouri wine country.

Truly a gem atop a hill overlooking the quaint riverfront downtown area. Jeanne is very friendly and accommodating and gives great advice on where to eat and drink. Our small group had a blast spending the weekend here. I recommend giving this a try for a fun weekend.

Great location, unmatched hospitality, and an unmatched decor. The walk down the hill to the river is not for the faint of heart. Short trip to Herman and Washington..

Lovely, comfortable rooms. Jeanie made us feel comfortable and at home. Stayed with sisters and mom. We all highly recommend this historic hotel!

This was our first trip to New Haven and the from the moment we arrived at Central Hotel, I knew it was going to be a great trip. We had two rooms (#2 and #4) and both featured amazing bathtubs along with antique furnishings and modern comforts like smart TVs. Jeannie was an absolute pleasure from the moment I called to book until the time we checked out. John Colter drew us to New Haven, so Jeannie went the extra mile and offered my son extra information about him when we arrived. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed played cards downstairs in the evening. New Haven gives me total Virgin River vibes, and I am already planning a return trip to the Central Hotel.

When our original hotel in Hermann Missouri turned out to be bad we called the Central Hotel in New Haven. This place is wonderful. The owner was able to take us in on a moment's notice. We have found a new place to stay in Hermann!

The room was quite spacious. Sadly we had to check out very early otherwise we would have stayed for breakfast. The hotel is unique with a long history.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel a few days ago. There was a great claw foot tub in our thoughtfully decorated room. The included breakfast was wonderful, and Jeanne's hospitality was second to none. We will definitely stay here when we're back in the area!

Great place to stay in the Missouri wine country. Lovingly restored building from the 1870s. Comfortable bed, wine glasses in the room for us to use and a very attentive host. The breakfast is simple but good and included hard boiled eggs, cinnamon rolls, cereals, yogurt, coffee, tea, bagels and other similar items.

Do not stay here! Our first night the bed broke. We called, no answer. We went down stairs and knocked on door several times, no answer. We were up at midnight, lifting box springs, trying to get these little boards that we're on hinges upright. We slept on edge of the very hard mattress, afraid to turn on the mattress thinking the entire bed would break. We were told since you had a bad night, I will not charge you. I will get the bed fixed or give you a different room. Okay we said. We went on to breakfast. Yes it's a bed and breakfast. Hope you like continental breakfasts, that's what it is unless you like cold cereal. Check the expiration dates on stuff too, the cream cheese expired early June, this was July! There was a new one in there for my bagel though. The room was clean...mostly. I guess they do not get on the top shelves too often, after this review, perhaps they will. Jeannie very nice and apologetic of everything so far. We went on to enjoy a long day in St Louis. We were pretty wore out and when we got back Jeannie said she fixed the bed, but, if it should break or we were uncomfortable just leave our stuff in the room and go sleep in the room across the hall. Okay we said. We ended up still being gingerly on the very hard mattress, no creaks or problems and extremely tired we slept all night. She also let is know that they were going to wait to stain the porch outside of our room until after our stay which was great! It was enjoyable to sit out on the porch ( wear mosquito repellent though ) . Well last night of three night stay. I barely slept. I was not as wore out as night before. The hard mattress was just that. I finally got up 6 am sleeping about 4 or 5 hours off and on ...so achy. Up and at it and time to check out. I was presented with what looked like a certificate of reward.. lol. It was for one free night!!! Oh I cannot give you the one night off on THIS stay because you booked online. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Overall: Nicely decorated, great restoration. Uncomfortable stay left us yearning for much more!

This is near Hermann and has the perfect quiet solitude we love. On a hill near the river, and within walking distance of the town's main attractions: Astral Glass Studio and Pinckney Bend Distillery. The amenities are fantastic. The breakfast was very nice too. This is one of the cleanest, best kept places we've stayed in... for ages. Your host, Jeanne, is one of the most attentive and nicest people. She has lived in this area for many years and is a fountain of local info! We highly recommend staying here. This is a bed and breakfast experience.
