Unique shop, limited local gifts all of which seem more imported than local though did have some honey that was local. Nice stop for drink breaks and light vending sized snacks. No obvious bathroom or trashcans available but some reported a bathroom in the back behind the counter. Some parking. No seating /picnic tables really for a formal stop but we found a 10ft circle of shade under a single tree adjacent. I'd plant some trees, add some picnic tables, make it a true bike stop. If your biking from Klondike Park this is about 3.6 miles after the caboose stop and about 18 miles one way total distance.

A very nice store along the Katy Trail. Stop for an ice cream while riding the trail on a hot afternoon. History and area information. Music on the front porch on Saturdays during summer. A nice stop to enjoy.

We stopped at the Peers Store as part of our Missouri Bicentennial Explorers Challenge. Was a beautiful place, with bluegrass music being played on the front porch and the yard was buzzing with cyclist taking a break off the Katy Trail. The shopkeeper, Cathie, was enjoyable to visit with and we purchased a few souvenirs. Wonderful part of history and enjoyable drive down 94 to get to it.

We checked out the Peers Store on a Saturday afternoon. They have so many beautiful, historic items to buy as gifts, little snacks during a long bike ride or trail run, and a super friendly and informative staff. When we visited, they had live music on the front porch. All the proceeds from this store benefit the Katy Land Trust; we bought one of the beautifully illustrated books that tells the story of Missouri as a gift for our parents. We then took a short bike ride down the trail to Treloar, where we had AMAZING burgers at the Treloar Bar & Grill. What a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon, highly recommend! :)

A very unique homage to the Katy Trail, Peers Store is a must-visit if it's open when you pass by. We'd read about this in the Katy Trail guidebooks, and when we rode by this time they had some live music out front which served as a welcoming committee. Inside is part museum (the building is from the 1800s), as well as part gift shop and snack shop. A classic country store, this is a fun one and serves as a great little break from the nearby trail.
