Our service appointment went very well today.
Came in for a wheel alignment on our XC40 recharge. Got in on time and wait was less than expected.
Payment was simple and we were on our way!

My experience took a turn for the worse:
1. Was told that my trade in would be driven to see if I could get more money, it never was and ended up with a lower trade in value
2. Had the displeasure of dealing with a lazy salesman who was clearly more concerned about leaving early for the day than providing good service.
3. Salesman claimed he couldn’t get my license plates off trade in car because they were in a locked license plate holder. Said a special tool was needed. I knew I didn’t have locked license plate holders, but couldn’t understand why there was an issue. He said he would provide a temp tag and deliver my license plates on Monday (it was a Saturday I bought the car).
4. After proposing the idea to give me temp tags, the temp tags were NOT provided. My husband and I honestly didn’t realize until we got about 10 minutes down the road. When we texted the salesman to ask if we were good, he said “Good question.” “If you get a ticket Mat will pay it.” So I drove from West County back to IL illegally!
5. Since I had no license plates or temp tags on the car, I didn’t feel comfortable driving the car, and was concerned about how I’d get to work that Monday. My husband tried calling the salesman a few times but no answer. So my husband took a wrench and drove back to the dealership. He was able to get both plates off without any issues. So it’s obvious that the salesman didn’t really try.
6. The car I bought now reeks of cigarette smoke! When I test drove the vehicle, it had a new car smell, so the dealership had to have used something to temporarily mask the smell. I’m not a smoker so the odor is literally making me sick! I now will have to pay for odor removal, which I’m not happy about.
I will never buy another car from West County Volvo again.

The service at West County Volvo is excellent. They go out of their way to make sure my car is running well and to communicate clearly every step of the way. Dan Kitchell does a great job every time I bring my car in for annual service.

The Service Department manager, Dan, went above and beyond. I wish I could give him 10 stars. I am extremely grateful for Dan taking our car in for an engine rebuild when the Volvo dealership where we bought the car told us they couldn’t get us in for A YEAR!

Couldn’t be happier with our Volvo West County buying experience. We were in the market for something safe with AWD for the growing number of drivers in our family. Tom worked patiently with us to find the right vehicle, and Mat made the buying process easy and painless. Everyone was upfront and honest, and we didn’t feel rushed or pushed to decide on anything.
