I met Branden at the house and was very pleased with his knowledge of onsite septic systems, as an installer from Washington State it was good to see that this inspector knew his stuff. The report I received for my report was concise and easy to go through.the only thing I was displeased with was Saint Louis county's complete and utter lack of record keeping so unfortunately I was unable to get a lay out of our drain field. All in all very happy with this inspector and I would recommend them and unhappy with the county

Buying a house is a seemingly endless series of either annoying, overly verbose/complicated, and/or just plain painful lists of things to do. I can honestly say that I hated every single moment of the process!That said, Show Me Soils was one of the very few "to do"s" that was actually pain free: Better than pain-free. We had several of SMS's staff out to our new place, and every one of them was seriously service-oriented, meticulous in their details, and most importantly, proactive in explaining everything that was going on. It may seem simple and second nature to many, but going from a lifetime of rental apartments to a place that needs septic tank inspections and replacement; private well testing, treatments, and certification; and even a riding lawnmower (yes, there is a real tie-in between the lawnmower and our water and waste systems), is a HUGE paradigm shift! It's confusing, atrociously frustrating, and an all around PITA. At least it was endlessly frustrating with the guy we tried before SSM: Show Me Soils was GREAT! They not only did everything we needed at reasonable pricing, with an attention to details that rivals my own, they did all this while dealing with Me, a high maintenance crazy person who wants to know and understand everything down to the last detail (engineers are like that by birth - it's in our DNA!).Everyone from SSM was incredibly helpful in explaining all of the decision point options, exactly how and why everything was the way it was, and - without being asked - took the time to explain every point, down to the very smallest of information portions. If you couldn't tell, we are SUPER please with these guys!We cannot recommend Show Me Soils highly enough! They are involved in a business that lives or dies based on the number of hours they can book for each job, yet they go out of their way to provide you with every possible choice and an explanation for them. NOBODY else in our long and painful house buying process came close to SMS. You should use them, even if they are not the most inexpensive options, just because the business they are in needs to support the occasional Good Actor - Show Me Soils in this case. Regardless of *why* you choose them, you will NOT be disappointed. Go look at how many [few] businesses I review publicly, and of those how many get really positive reviews - that will tell you how happy we were and are with SMS. You cannot do any better than these fine people: I'll eat your car if you choose them and have so much as a single complaint. Well, not really, but you get this idea...
