We spent three nights at Walnut Waters recently, when we were out visiting family. I rarely write reviews, but make an exception when a place exceeds my expectations, and Walnut Waters did just that: if I could give it more than five stars, I would!
Rebecca and Karl, the proprietors of Walnut Waters, have poured their heart and soul, along with their considerable talent, into providing a peaceful oasis in a beautiful setting. During our stay, we were delighted with the well-appointed furnishings, comfortable rooms and beds, and delicious breakfasts. Books, movies, a pool table, and outdoor activities were also available and looked inviting, although we didn’t have time to explore them.
One thing we especially appreciated was how, at breakfast, Rebecca and Karl engaged in conversation with each guest in a way that felt welcoming but not intrusive. The third morning, as we were the only guests, Karl joined us at the table and we found ourselves lingering over our coffee in thoughtful conversation.
If you’re looking for quintessential hosts in a truly lovely setting, look no further than Walnut Waters!

Peaceful Waters was exactly what the name implies. We had 3 night of wonderful rest, breakfast was a beautiful delicious spread and the environment was soothing to our souls. This is a perfect location to restore a soul, brainstorm a new project or rekindle a relationship! We will be back.

The hosts are fantastic. They made us feel very welcome. This was a great getaway from the city. We enjoyed the quiet, cozy atmosphere and location. The pond is a wonderful feature and very relaxing to sit and enjoy the view. They made a fantastic breakfast that we all enjoyed. They customized the breakfast for our dietary needs of no gluten and no dairy. We most definitely recommend this location for your weekend getaways, weddings, and other gathering events.Walkability: The property is easy to walk around and enjoy nature. We enjoyed the well maintained trails. Don't forget your bug spray.

We were celebrating our anniversary and we wanted a spot not too far from home, which is Kansas City. It was easy to find and the escape to nature was just what we needed. We played pool, we had fun using the paddleboat, we took a couple of walks, and we sat by the pond to enjoy the lightening bugs. It was peaceful and the scenery is beautiful. Karl and Rebecca were fabulous host. Breakfast was amazing! We spent part of the night in downtown Lee's Summit and then went to Powell Gardens the next day. Not too far away from either one yet far enough to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Definitely plan on going back!

A very tranquil little corner of Missouri to spend the night. My wife and I were visiting from Colorado, indulging our love of historical sites in North/Central Missouri, and stayed one night. Karl and Rebecca were gracious hosts and provided an excellent breakfast and good company. A fantastic B&B that really raises the bar for quality. We will definitely stay again when we make it back to this part of the country.Food & drinks: Excellent breakfast and the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies were a nice touch.

Rebecca and Karl are two of the nicest people to visit with. They gave us a brief history of how they came to have this wonderful, peaceful get-away. Beautiful scenery with lots of wildlife to watch. The large pond was stocked with various fish with a large fountain in the center. We really enjoyed visiting with Rebecca and Karl. Good Christan people. Accommodations were great. Great breakfast and served to guests by Rebecca and Karl. Highly recommend.Paul & Brenda Geiler

This was the most quiet and private bed-and-breakfast we have ever stayed at. I loved being far away from traffic and in nature. The host were so personable. The house was extremely clean. We loved all of the entertainment options. I feel like they have been in business for decades with how well things were ran, but they’ve only been around for a few years. I definitely want to go again for each season of the year. I had taken my wife there as a surprise for her birthday. She loved sitting in the gazebo by the lake.

My daughter and I spent 3 wonderful days with Rebecca and Karl, this place is amazing. The grounds are very inviting and peaceful. Rebecca and Karl make you feel like one of their family right from the first greeting at the door when you arrive. The breakfasts are a awesome, I especially enjoyed the French toast and scones. Take a walk around the lake or sit in one of the many spaces available to enjoy the birds and surroundings. I highly recommend if you are looking to a great away out of the city, I hope to return in the future. It was truly wonderful experience.

I got engaged to my fiance here in October and they were absolutely amazing! They even helped him set things up while we were at dinner!! The atmosphere, the food, the view, just everything. It was perfect! If you need a weekend getaway, this is the best place to go! Also serves as a venue for weddings and events. They are amazing and make this experience a true treasure for their guests. I would recommend to anyone and everyone! I will definitely be going back and my fiance and I would love to get married here!Rooms: Wonderful, comfortable, everything you need right there.Nearby activities: Close to Independence, MO so there are shops and restaurants close enough to go check those out and come back to Walnut Waters. They also provide a list of local restaurants and things to do for the guests. Really nice if you aren't familiar with the area.Safety: I felt very safe with the layout and hosts.Walkability: The rooms are upstairs, but can get to them from the outside too so handicap accessibility is there.Food & drinks: Homemade food by the hosts, it was wonderful. Tasted like a 5 star restaurant!Noteworthy details: They have activities from games to movies to a pool table. They have walking trails, fishing equipment, patio for each individual room, and gazebos to go sit and look at the beautiful view around the pond. Absolutely stunning view in the fall with the trees changing colors. They had snacks, water, and coffee available at any hour. Just an all around wonderful and beautiful place to find romance, peace, solitude, fun, quiet, and completely comfortable.

This is an amazing place to stay Karl and Rebecca are the freakin best ever. They make you feel at home as soon as you meet them their house is beautiful the rooms were perfect and breakfast was 2nd to none they take great care of you and your needs. They are out in the country and it's as peaceful as it gets. They have a very nice pond out front with fishing poles you can use and yes I did! They also had a Murder Mystery Dinner at their events center just a very short walk from the house. My wife and I did attend it, it was our first time doing one of these and it was so much fun. So if your wanting the best and I mean the best bed and breakfast this is the spot for you. Sorry for the long review but trust me it's worth every dollar. Thank you Karl and Rebecca you rock!
