The agent I used was someone my daughter knew from high school. (My daughter is a real estate agent in Alabama.) This agent handled my final walk through poorly. It was written in the contract that window treatments and TV mounts were to stay. The sellers took them all and even the brackets on the wall (except one bracket in the kitchen) leaving multiple holes and anchor holes in the walls. When I complained she acted clueless about what to do. I had to tell her to get with the sellers' agent and work it out. We compromised on the TV mounts but her response on the window treatments was 'I don't know how to value those so we'll have to leave it.'. Translation: My problem and my inconvenience to get replacements. The final straw was the broker fee I found out about on the day of closing. She would not budge on it, said it was in the buyers contract I signed (sent to me on my phone). I asked her to reimburse me for it since she did not give me a 'heads up' and she was making a healthy commission. She reminded me that since my daughter referred her she had to pay her a referral fee and wasn't getting the whole amount. I reminded her that she would not have gotten me as a client if my daughter had not referred her. Needless to say, I would not recommend her or her agency for future business.
