When I began my career as a content creator, I was writing for nearly nothing. I told Ron about this and that I was facing intense competition from writers in countries with a lower cost of living. His response? ‘You don’t have to compete with those writers. And you should be charging more.’After that conversation, I took Ron’s advice and increased my bids to six or more times what I was bidding before. Then, I waited for the rejections that I assumed would be coming. Instead, I snagged so many contracts that I could barely keep up with the work! Not only did my profit increase dramatically, but I found that clients were happy to pay my new price and even respected me and my work more than ever before. My services didn’t change, but my clients’ perception of their value did. Every business owner needs to do this "Price For Profitability" exercise! Otherwise your pricing is just a guessing game and you can end up spinning your wheels until you go out of business. Doing the “Priced To Be Profitable” method I was able to get clear on why my current pricing and growth were not working as well as I thought. After some mindset coaching around pricing I’ve increased my rates, and no one has even baulked at the new pricing. Now I’m confident in my pricing, why that pricing will make my company profitable. Now I’ll be able to actually scale my business because I’ll have profit next month to reinvest in a well overdue employee to help us grow even more.
