My wife and I visited this place the other day and walked around it just looking over the old home. It was really crazy to see all the bullet holes in the front of the house and to imagine what everyone went through that night. It does look like the home needs some maintenance to keep it going, and we suspect that at some point, it will likely be gone due to the dilapidation that is starting. It is an awesome piece of history, to say the least, and a must place to visit.

The staff and volunteers here are very helpful and knowledgeable. We were driving to Lexington to donate some period appropriate items for the Anderson House. Chris Fritsche and Carla Strain were fantastic! They accommodated our crazy schedule, as well as unloaded the items for us due to my husband's mobility issues. Plus, they listened to his stories.Great visitors' center, battlefield, and historic home.

Come relive Missouri history at its worst... lots of lessons to be learned here, mistakes of the past, and how we got to where we are today. Informative and thoughtful experience. Check it out if you are in the area.

Great historic site. Anderson house is amazing. The museum inside the state park building is very informative. The grounds have a walking trail around the battle grounds.

Absolutely top notch fantastic experience! We were here for the reenactment. Was worth every bit of the drive. So educational for kids studying US history.
