Friendly spot for a fun float trip!

The campground was fine. Older facilities but I really enjoyed the wood sites. We won't be going back though because the float trip sucked. I get that mother nature plays a big role in it, but they lied to my face when I asked about river conditions. I was told they were fine and rafts where not dragging. We had to drag our rafts for miles. By the time we got close to the take out and the river was finally good we were all to exhausted to enjoy the last half mile. The section of river they chose to float is terrible. Every other time I've floated on the black it has been great. Probably go back to Park Bluff, there float starts just before this one ends. Much better section of the river.

Camped hear over the weekend heard a lot of noise after quiet hours, was not enforced. My dad rented a canoe and it was filling up with water. He went back and I called the office 18 times before someone picked up the phone so i can check on him. They told me they were bringing him a new one witch he asked them to take him back to the camp site and we waited on the river 2 hours for him. So they lied to me. Will not camp here again

The staff was very friendly but easily distracted and would start speaking with other people while being in the middle of checking us out. Once I had made my payment, they sent me on my way with no information as to where our sites were or a map to try and find them.
The restrooms were cleaned on Friday when I arrived, but by Sunday morning, they had not been cleaned out or trash taken out.
We ended up reserving 4 sites, none of which had a usable fire pit to grill on. Each site did not have a clean layout or even a designated spot to park. There was also not a picnic table at every site.
There were also quite a few other guests that had loud speakers playing music. This was of no issue until we hit quite hours. The quiet hours were not enforced at all, which led to many groups still playing load music at 12:30 a.m., making it quite hard to fall asleep.
For the floating portion of our trip we were very disappoint. They did not provide us with any information as to how long the float would be, what time we had to be back by, or where we were supposed to take out. When we were dropped off at the beach to put in, the staff was very rude and was trying to rush us off the beach as fast as possible. One of our rafts had a leak in to before we even started. The two inner tubs we rented were not even floating inner tubs. They were truck tire inner tubs that were black with long valve stems. Both of those things led to them being highly uncomfortable and even hard for some of our smaller people to sit in. Over all it was enough small things that made they entire weekend a bit of a disappointment.

We have been camping at riversedge for over 10 yrs and we love the location to the river and the new owners are trying to bring it up to date with the computer systems and reservations. Plus we all ready see the shower house / bathrooms are under construction with updates. They also graded out the gravel slope going into the river so it makes it easier to walk into the water. For a nice shady campground close to the river this would be it.

Just stayed here this last weekend, we tent camped. It was great had a hookup, fit 5 tents between 2 sites. Has a newer shower house, no issues there was nice and clean each time it was used. Great beach location- it wasn’t overly deep I can’t wait to bring my kids back to enjoy the black river here.
Our only hick up was the float process. We did all our reservations online and it didn’t give us a time
Option so we cleared that up when we got there with no huge issue (however we were never given a ticket) fast forward to the next day we happened to upgrade one of our rafts so we could fit another cooler - and they then gave us said ticket. (That was collected when we got to the rafts). I would have thought they would only a lot so many people per time frame since there is one bus- and it was a mad house to get on the bus. We loaded our coolers first but there were like 20 pre inflated tubes that got on before we could finish with the coolers and they were taking up precious seats. Some people were left behind and they said it was about 45 mins before the bus came back.
However it all worked out for us. We will be back but we will just make sure to get in the 9am bus when no one else had haha

A friend of mine took me tent camping here last year and I loved it. We took another friend just last weekend and we had a great time. I like to be close to the river and we were both times. I’m planning to take my Dad in a couple of weeks. He’s going to love it. It’s a nice family friendly campground and everyone in the office was super friendly. The bathrooms & showers are clean and in descent shape. The only downfall was I had no phone service but that’s not always a bad thing…lol
I recommend Riversedge Campground and will definitely be going back.
Nearby activities: There’s a playground for the kids and a place to keep your horses if your a rider.
There’s also a little store in the office.

We called on a Friday last minute to book a weekend stay and spoke with Lily. I told her what I was looking for accommodation wise and she was incredibly patient and helpful with making sure the best campsite was booked for my family and I. She even went out of her way to ensure we would be comfortable with our site. Unfortunately since this was a last minute trip we would be arriving a bit later then preferred but Lily stayed a bit later to make sure we arrived safely and was checked in. She was very kind and welcoming even though she had to stay a bit later waiting for us.Main check-in lodge has a little shop with everything you could need for your trip that you may have forgotten or even just a little treat for the little ones. Also great price on firewood bundles!Our campsite was clean and very well shaded right on the river. Some of the other sites seemed a bit smaller but are perfect for a simple couple looking to get away from the busy city life. They also appeared to have bigger sites to accommodate families or groups of friends. The views were beautiful and aside from one noisy group it was mostly quiet and peaceful. Yes the bathrooms are not luxurious but I've never been to a campground where they were. Showers are free and get the job done. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with TP, hand soap and paper towels.Considering this place is owned and ran by a small family, they do an amazing job of keeping this place an affordable, clean, family friendly experience. We will definitely be back and hope to see Lily and her husband again! Thank you for keeping this place a great vacation spot to create enjoyable memories.

It is always a wonderful experience when I go to this campground. The staff is amazing. Mike the manager there is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Lillie is amazing at running the store, and their helpers Tanner and Adam are extremely hard workers. On whole , amazing place to go. Thank you guys !Nearby activities: The floats are top notch

Black River was gorgeous and a great float. However, this review is for the campground, which is zero stars across the board.Upon check in, the older lady with gray hair at the front desk was extremely rude. After attempting to clarify the price and charges multiple times (of which she herself couldn't calculate) she made rude comments about me, in front of me, directed towards my wife. She then threatened to cancel our reservation. She rudely then told us to wait for the cardholder to be present (we were the first to check in among our group).The entire front desk seemed unorganized - everything is pen and paper and calculator. I never was complaining nor was I upset about the pricing- I was simply trying to clarify what rates were being charged and she took great offense to this.One of our group is also military, and when more of the party showed up, she refused to honor military discount, because the cardholder specifically wasn't military. She wouldn't even give the one military member a discount on his solo camping rate!The campground was also disappointing. Dirty, rocky, and small. The bathrooms were disgusting and not well kept. The women's bathroom was constantly out of soap and toilet paper.Overall, a terrible experience. I would 100% float the Black River again, however I would 100% not stay here again.

The restrooms need attention, asap. The showers are in terrible shape and the step down out of the ladies restroom is hazardous. This is too beautiful of a spot to let the facilities go like they have. We will not return until improvements have been made.

My group has being going there for 20 years! The reservation is always the same fri-mon but a few of us come in and pay separate from the group for Thurs. But since the employee that handles the reservation quit we were charged for all 6 sites for Thurs to Mon! At $40 a site! They didn't give me a receipt stapled it to the reservation. But still charged us again for all the sites!The bathrooms have never been great but they were absolutely disgusting! Hair on the walls and it looks like someone lost their weave and it was there the entire weekend!Yes, Lily at the desk must have a bad day everyday! (As I saw in her apology to another review) She does not know the meaning of hospitality! She was rude Everytime we encountered her! Needless to say we won't be back!! I hope the extra money you charged us was worth it!The only thing that was positive about this stay was the view!If I could rate a zero I would!
